  Circuit Assembly Notes

  hello, everyone.. i somehow managed to endure a circuit assembly this past weekend.

  the two positives that came out of it are:.

  1) i can easily beat any test of endurance and.

  another question.. this one is for all those that began doubting the organisation when they were an obedient jw.. although i am sure you rarely shared it with anyone, what was the one problem you had with a certain jw only doctrine?.

  what i mean is, what little gremlins lurked at the back of your mind?

  what were the doubts that you kept hidden and what made you finally act on them?.

  Believe it or not, the "marry only in the Lord" thing, where "the Lord" meant only JW's never really sat well with me. Other than that, I never paid much attention to the "little details" : ) until: I read Crisis of Concience and the link with the UN became known. I will NEVER reconcile with that. That was the proverbial "straw". Jbean

  Well, here's my story... Like it or not.

  wow... i feel guilty about even being here, let alone posting my story.

  but here goes.... it was back in the late 60's that my dad (actually stepdad who adopted me and my older sister when he married our mother) got witnessed to by a guy that he worked with.

  he was invited to our house for dinner along with his wife and that was the beginning of my new life.

  Moe... I'm so sorry for the year you've been having. Please take a deep breath and realize that you CAN handle whatever life throws at you. And you do have friends... albeit many are here online and you can't actually see us! : ) What part of Florida are you in? I was just down there and wish I knew how to contact you. Please keep venting to us... it's healthy. And my prayers are for you, your daughter and your folks. Jbean

  Help! I have fallen in love with a Witness

  i recently started dating my neighbor.

  a couple of nights into the late night talks, he told me the reason he hasn't dated in awhile is beacuse he is a witness.

  i was surprised, but okay with it.

  Itsa... NO NO NO... DO NOT convert! Please TRUST those who have almost lost their lives (in many ways) trying to get out!!!! Or just voice their own minds! You have absolutely NO IDEA what it's all about unless you've lived it. Most mainstream religions are NOTHING AT ALL like the JW's. Please TRUST US that if you do convert, you are really, really, really (need I go on?) stuck if you want to assert any independence whatsoever... and if you change your mind... well FORGET ABOUT IT! Continue seeing this guy... marry him even (I married an unbeliever and had many wonderful years with him!) but DO NOT join. Period. Jbean (still a JW and trying like heck to get out with pieces of my life in tact!)

  I blew off a 25 min. service meeting part tonite

  i told the presiding overseer that i'd probably be late getting home from work.

  but i actually spent my time driving around and enjoying the spring weather.. in other news i'll be going in for a job interview tomorrow within the company.

  i'm really hoping i land this job, because as soon as i can secure a new position (my old one is being phased out) i'll be exiting the stage of the jw comedy of errors.. .

  Another reinstatement meeting coming up...

  i turned in a request (by letter) for reinstatement last week and ive been informed that i will meeting with my original judicial committee this coming wednesday.

  im very excited and happy, but at the same time i want to be careful how i conduct myself.

  in the last meeting in early march, my reinstatement request was turned down.

  Mav: Per your last post here, I do hope that Jehovah does answer your prayers this week. Please truthfully let us know how it goes, as some of us are truly interested (others are not, but that's ok too.) Remember... sometimes God's answer is no, for reasons that we don't understand at the time... but I hope you are fixed in your mind that if you do not get reinstated, you need to take care of yourself and move on (away from the JW's) as you said.

  MavMan, if what you say is true, then you must be very anxious about this meeting. Because if they say no, then you're kind of committed to not go back, right? In that case, since you want it sooo much, I do hope they reinstate you. However, realize that you may be back here anyway... just 'cos you'll miss us! : )

  MavMan... just as last time, I wish you only what you personally need to be happy at this point. I do understand you needing "Jehovah's people", but you seem also to need people here, on this board. I think you know who will accept you back, no matter what decisions you make, and who won't. The best to you... Jbean
