  i am officially retiring my other two personas (mister biggs and mister 8iggs).

  quick history: i chose biggs because i am a huge fan of ronald isley (and his brothers).

  i initially added 8iggs because i went over my quota for posts one day.

  Wow Brian! Congratulations!!!! I hope one day (soon) to have your courage!!! I am still unable to announce who I really am because of fear. Trying to overcome it, but I'll hate to lose my family members who are all active JWs. Anyhow... congrats again and I wish you all the best with your wife! Jbean

  UN involvement/elders reply.

  several weeks ago i asked a lot of you here about the involvement with the un.

  you were really helpful in your replies.

  thank you.. i approached an elder who i know is "up" on that sort of thing and guess what... he had no idea!.

  For me, the UN involvement was really the last straw. I brought all this information up to my folks (STRONG JW's) and although they were disturbed by the information, their answer?
  "Wait on Jehovah to straighten everything out, he always does." and then the requisite: "Where else would we go? Who else has the TRUTH?" (gag.) I'm sure you'll find this reaction in 99.9% of any active JW you speak with. Sad really.

  The dreaded disfellowshiping

  i have been informed on good authority (a dub for 27 years) that you cannot get disfelowshiped for committing a wrongdoing, only for being unrepentant.. can anyone tell me if this is true or not, and if it is not where the misunderstanding comes from?

  I agree... just a lot more of their lame talk. I know PERSONALLY one or two people the elders "had it in for" and they practically were hysterical in their repentence... begging, crying, hyperventilating to not get the 'ol DF. Truly very sorry that they did whatever it was they did. No luck. The elders couldn't let it go. Setting precidence, ya know.

  Professor talks about JWs in my 1st college course

  okay, i was sitting there just learning (this is my first college course toward my b.a.

  ), and all of the sudden the professor asks, "is anyone here a jehovahs witness?

  " (this is a required religion course).

  DO YA MISS "THE SWEET FELLOWSHIP"?

  one of the major reasons that a disfellowshipped or disassociated person has for coming back to "jehovah's organization" is that perhaps they will miss the "sweet fellowship".

  after hearing comments regarding the km article on how to treat disfellowshipped ones, i must wonder why anyone of sound mind would think a disfellowshipped person would miss anything from the organization.

  viewing persons as "dead" while out of the organization would not make one feel anxious to return to jehovah's loving arrangement through the organization.whoever coined the term about missing "the sweet fellowship" was pretty clever.

  Personally, I do not miss anyone that I used to hang around with! Sorry to say, but even before I started missing meetings, I thought the folks there were just plain weird. Nice, yes, but wierd also. Very robot-like in EVERYTHING. I asked a "worldly" (ooooohhhh) friend of mine once recently "was I ever like that?" and their response was "hell no! That's why you're not there anymore!!!" HA! I've said this before to other posts, but JW's think they can do and say anything and it doesn't matter... 'cos they're IN THE TRUTH! What a crock.

  My feelings on this, you ask? : ) I'd say firstly, give the "new" gal a chance. You may find that actually being with someone in all the ways you mentioned and also physically (not through the internet, etc.) will bring you pleasure beyond what you can imagine. Truly give this woman a chance, without comparing her to the other. (I know, hard, but be fair...) Then, after a while, take a step back and see how you feel. You may be surprised to find that the long-distance person has lost their "pull". Jbean

  it means a loss of everyone and everything you have known all your life.

  I'm a bit late in replying... i've been so busy I haven't been able to be on the board as much as I'd like. I just wanted to give Bill a big cyber-hug and let him know that he's also in my thoughts! I would've loved to have been in that hall that evening... I believe I would've walked out right along with him!!!!! Keep up the wonderful work Bill... and much love to your wife and family! (champagne when you got home???? How festive!!! : )

  yay! I'm gonna be in chris rocks new movie

  i got in as an extra, i start filming tommorow and friday, the movie is called friend of the state or soemthing like that, its about him running for president.

  Wow! That is soooo cool! I'm very jealous of you! : ) I'm a frustrated actress and have been for my whole life!!! I always WISHED I could get into something like you have. I did some "industrial" films (training films) when I was younger,but nothing for a while. Congratulations and have fun!!! Jbean
