justice #21 analysis of jw justice .
many of you are relatively new to this board and may have missed much of my justice series, and the introduction to its purpose.
this seems like a good time to refresh this series for your benefit, and to add some additional thoughts:.
Well said.
I've attended a large independent Christian church since leaving the Watchtower in 1989. We have college educated counselors overseeing the counseling deptartment. There are volunteers as well and they recieve extensive training. No such process as judicial committees or disfellowshipping exists. People frequently go to other churches, this does not require that their friends stop speaking to them.
The system used by the Watchtower is simply wrong.
as liza, the kids, and i were decorating the christmas tree last night, my mind went back to our first christmas together 6 years ago.
one of the first questions liza asked was "you're not going to put up a tree, are you?
" typical jw conditioning.
People who know Debbie and I well enough to know we've been married 27 years, but don't know much about dubs are very confused by our Hallmark ornament that says "1989-Our first Christmas together."
hi, folks,.
hmmm.
ive bitten myself off a pretty good chunk here, so bear with me as i try to figure out where to start.. two things id better say up front, though: none of this is meant to be in any way, a devaluing of the phenomenal work thats been done by anyone here on the board.
Lone Wolf,
When you have a minute email me at [email protected]. We aren't that far apart (I'm in Seattle).
I think the house of cards may be about to fall down, and I'm not against giving it a push. I've noticed signs of decay everywhere. There hasn't been a new thought in a Watctower publication that I've seen in years, unless you want to count back pedalling on 1914. I see dubs on the street all the time counting their time by holding up Watchtowers and Awakes. I've never seen them place one by doing that.
I'm not sure what my part in this might be, but I'll make myself available.
going back to 1889 and telling them that the new system will not arrive until at least 2001?.
or even.... going back to 1975 and telling them that the new system will not arrive until at least 2001?.
and will i be asking the same question in 2051 about the situation now?
Back about 1980 a large number of people in a congregation near mine were disfellowshipped for speculating that the 1914 generation thing was symbolic, not literal.
I wonder if they all got reinstated in 1995?
let me tell you a story.
i have a wonderful 18 year old son who is almost as smart as he thinks he is.
he is currently a freshman at northeastern university in boston, in their engineering program.
Congratulatins. That is really great.
How great it is to see our kids doing something more meaningful than washing windows.
hello i've been sent from botchtower headquaters to see how the flock of apostate are digressing spiritualy.. as we all know it is important to be inactive in the service and meetings and i see that many of you are doing well.. it can be hard though , sometimes when we come home from work tiered it is all too easy to get washed and changed and to rush of to a meeting without stoping to eat.. but without trust in the holyspirit you can become stong and my be able to get into the habit of watching tv or maybe even going to the pub.. even if you can do a little tv watching a day instead of reading the watchtower and awake it will help.. in order to combat the desires of the spirit we must replace them with more apostate things.i notice that some of you have not been active on the internet recently.. this is not good for your progress.. on my next visit i would like to see more non attendance at meetings less studying and more engagment in materialistic pursuits.. oh and some of you have been reporting your hours, please consider the relevent material as whether this is unscriptual or not.. with warm love and apostate greetings ,.

I'm sending my sixteen year old son to college instead of making him get married, take a job as a janitor and pioneer.
The only Bible I use is the NIV.
Does this put me far enough from the troof?
Marilyn; twenty years? You mean you didn't even stick around to see what happened in '75? Good for you.

Dear CO
I would like to complain about the like of respect I'm getting from some of the other Apostates. I've been not going to meetings at all, and not going out in field service, for thirteen years. When I see Watchtowers and Awakes left at bus stops I throw them away. I've done my time picketing conventions, too.
And I'm tired of hearing about this internet thing. You young punks don't know what it was like in the old days. When I became an Apostate we had to drive ten miles to go to a support group. In the snow. Uphill both ways!
I watch lots of TV every night, I go to R rated movies. My wife is reading Harry Potter. We have a smurf in the house. I vote every election, I stood for the national anthem at a ball game. We drink wine too (oh wait that isn't apostate is it).
Now slap these people into shape.
so we got fed up with all of our educational opportunities for him.
the public school couldn't do its job, and we fought all last year with the administration of the private school because their dress code was stupid.
(i came very close to telling the vice principal that one solution to the problem would be for her to take the stick out of her ass).. so this fall we sent him to ged classes.

He just turned sixteen in August.
i've been a part of this forum for about one month, and during that time i've been struck by the willingness of many so former jehovah witnesses either to ridicule the bible, or to stand by while it's being ridiculed.
so, i'm wondering how many of them while witnesses suffered through experiences so searing that they no longer believe in the god of the old testament.. who among you still believe that underneath the layers of contradictions, inconsistencies, and errors in the bible there may be found the words of a god who created the universe, and who also cares about you, personally?.
joseph f. alward.
Yes. I believe that God cares about all of us so much that he manifested himself in the person of Jesus Christ to die for our sins.
While I'm like to share my beliefs I don't think it is my duty to pound them into your heads. I spent enough time being arrogant when I was a dub. I have noticed that many leaving the Watchtower have a very hard time with any religion afterwards. This doesn't surprize me.
I think that some parts of the Bible are there, not to provide answers, but to make us think about the questions.
