"Do this ..."
by sacolton in"for i received from the lord that which i also delivered to you: that the lord jesus on the same night in which he was betrayed took bread; and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'take, eat; this is my body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of me.
' in the same manner he also took the cup after supper, saying, 'this cup is the new covenant in my blood.
this do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

Hi Sacolton Thank you for your comment, when I first found out the truth about the truth and then the penny dropped that they had been preventing me from partaking, that they deny people the right to take the bread and wine claiming that they are taking it unworthily [TWISTING SCRIPTURE] as jesus said they shut up the heavens before men. [ EPHESIANS 4;4 &5 ONE HOPE ONE FAITH ] opened my eyes my hubby and I started partaking that very week. Our faith in God and his son Jesus was not shaken, I realised I had been putting faith in men. Now we have experienced freedom in christ which is denied as a JW we have a joy now that we never experienced in all the years we were in the org.
Also finding out the true meaning of grace was overwhelming I never realised the true extent of Gods mercy before. I encourage anyone to go on the ALPHA course with an open mind and realise we have been lied to. There is spiritual food in abundance. When I first went to a christian shop I could not believe the amount of books that had so much deep knowledge and insight, the hard work and research that was done.
We have also made some wonderful friends that have really supported and helped us.

Hi welcome to the board. So many of us here are in the same situation with family no longer speaking to us because of our decision to leave the org. thats why the support is so important. I naively thought that some of my family would still talk to us I was wrong. It is fear and pressure from the congregation we can never be sure how they will react, as mad sweeny said they are trained to threaten and coerse us to go back. We just hope and pray they will wake up as we have and see the truth about the truth. We are not sorry for the decision. I am happier that I have ever been. There is lots of support and helpful advise on this board look forward to hearing from you.

Here's my story! (Long one!)

Hi its me welcome to the board you have had to tell a difficult an painful story. Abused people lose self esteem and confidence in themselves when it starts in childhood and carries on into adulthood it is hard to break the pattern. I know from experience this to be true to keep putting yourself down and feeling you deserve to be treated badly. To top that being brought up in a cult that piles on the guilt of never being good enough.
Now you can break free and stop believing that lie. Allow yourself to be loved. allow yourself to fail we all do we are human. I am starting to think this way and I am already so much happier. There has been some great advice on the board so far
I wish you a brighter happier future

Does anybody remember lucky bags they were packed with sweets and goodies and a few pressies too. You never knew what you would get. Cantleave I must be a bit older than you because when I was a girl black jacks and fruit salads were halfpence each which is why all my back teeth were decayed and had to be filled by the time I was eleven yrs old. Also does anybody remember jublies triangular cartons with juice. In the summer they used to put them in the freezer.

The JW belief "death pays for sin"
by Chalam inhello jwners,.
i was just reading doublelife's thread and what struck me was this jw doctrine "she said that since my dad died, he paid for his sins, and he'll probably be resurrected.".
so, why did jesus to die for our sins if we are just going to pay for them with our own death's?!.

Hi disigns I appreciate your opinions thanks for your comments. Please do not misunderstand as an ex JW any different doctrine from the ones that i have accepted over the last thirty years will appear strange and examining the teachings of the mainstream churches I can clearly see difficulties. But the difference between being a JW and a born again christian is I have the freedom to explore the different teachings and test the spirits which was denied me as a JW . Not agreeing with some church teachings will not exclude me from worshipping, rather than squabbling about details the important thing is accepting Christs death and resurrection and that salvation can only come through christ and no one else and accepting his divinity.which jws don't accept.
If you read revelation chapter l-3 Christ commends and he also reproves most of the seven churches not for their philosophical arguments on basic teachings but for their problem of losing the love they had at first and for tolerating the abuse of the grace of God and the teaching of the nicolaitans practiced by some but not all, which christ hated. Christ clearly was also teaching individuals not to depart from the church as the jws say but to mature and to follow the example of the church in philadelphia which by my observation has been heppening to churches for many years now. The Church is Growing up. THE CHURCH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST [individuals] NOT AN ORGANIZATION, as you know. philosophical arguments are only important if you have the freedom to decided for yourself without intimidation. My workshop is to encourage JWs to explore freedom of concience and choice.
