  What he said near the end of the video was interesting.

  He said speakers could choose what parts and scriptures to omit when giving a talk and that no one would monitor the talk at circuit and district assemblies.

  Can anyone verify if this is true OR will the circuit overseer criticize you how you give your talk if it is not to his liking?

  My experience giving talks in this organization was that of always being criticized for how I delivered the talk. In their mind something was always said wrong.

  Young, healthy pioneers are a potential workforce for elders who own businesses to draw from.

  They can OWN you!

  They can skirt labour code laws and you are less likely to quit as they have you entwined in the congregation and their business.

  Thats why they want you to quit your good full time job and work part time cleaning.

  The org's failed last days predictions were "well meant."

  6 be sound in mind - the end is close - "of course, well-meaning, faithful christians in the past have sincerely tried to predict when the end would come.".

  more than 140 years of a sincere & well-meaning "it's coming soon" from the org, can be swept under the carpet - nothing to see here!.

  Well meaning and sincerely don’t repair the lives ruined by Jws getting manipulated by the peer pressure and the hype.

  People’s lives were ruined!

  The governing body knew what was happening. They could have published an article saying to not get caught up in the 1975 hype and stopped it in its tracks.

  My wife’s childhood friend parents sold their house and lived in an RV in Canada while they pioneered.

  They did this until the early 1980s but could never get back the time they lost. The father “left the truth” and divorced his wife in the late 80’s

  Another more tragic 1975 story.

  A brother my family knew cashed in his life insurance in 1975 and spent the money on taking his wife and young family to Hawaii.

  Shortly after they returned he wasn’t feeling well and died of cancer within a few months leaving his wife and children destitute. She remarried his cousin shortly after out of necessity but her new husband was very abusive to her and her children.

  The watchtower has a lot to answer for

  Miscarriage myths amongst JW

  so i am having these discussions about children etc and there are witness ties and family history in these discussions.

  i got the feeling having this discussion that they seemed to imply somehow it was ‘the parent’s fault’ for having a miscarriage.

  whether it was domestic violence, or the mother did something wrong themselves.

  Pinata's vs Birthday's - classic JW hypocrisy

  i vaguely knew that the pinata had some kind of pagan origin and i assumed that having a pinata at a jw party was frowned on by the b0rg.

  however, despite its blatant pagan origins, apparently i was wrong.. the 22 september, 2003 awake states that the aztecs would smash a clay pot full of 'treasures' in honour of the god huitzilopochtli's birthday.

  spanish missionaries simply switched the pot for the pinata during the christian conversion of the aztecs.

  I never thought of it that way.

  How was a poor person supposed to even know the day they were born other than the season.

  They didn’t own a fucking calendar.

  It hadn’t even been invented yet.

  The whole don’t celebrate birthdays, Christmas and other holidays was invented strictly by da judge to separate jws from their families and have them associate with fellow jws

  Its all about money and control

  What will happen to the Watchtower Religion now that Trump has Withdrawn from certain aspects of the United Nations.

  so trump has signed an executive order to withdraw from the united nations human rights council, a refugee organization, some others parts as well and calls for a review of american involvement in funding of the united nations.

  he said the united nations has not been living to its potential and they need to get their act together or just dissolve the organization completely.

  he said america will continue to be a part of the un but it's tiring that the united states is the country that funds most of the monies and that can't continue.

  Years ago I’ve heard people say they lost their baby because of punishment for sins.

  That’s what the bible teaches.

  David and bath Sheba lost their child because they sinned against Jehovah.

  I grew up in a backwoods, ignorant congregation so that’s how they rolled
