ok the group of writers that i collaborated with for the tales of christmas book (that chapters will be selling) is considering trying a second book about mothers.. most of the stories in the book will probably be about wonderful mothers.
well as many of you know i didn't get one of those.. i don't have to submit a story for this book if i don't want to.
and i am not a fiction writer (as i'm sure most of you have guessed).
What is the purpose of the collection? What's your audience--that'll answer your question.
If your looking for an anthology dealing with motherhood then your story has every right to be in with the rest, however, if it is meant to be a selling piece with a publication date around mothers day--I wouldn't. Those kind of readers probably wouldn't be able to handle it. Just my two cents.

anyway, been a "baptized" jw since 13 at the cow palace (now 20).... been a "questioning" jw since a few months after my "baptism".... still hang around the jw's... heck i was brought up as one from a tot and all of my good friends are jw's... even my girlfriend is a jw..... sigh... i've told her my stance... i'm way more liberal when it comes to religion and spirituality than i was taught to be, and bless the creator, she still loves me.
but anyway i'm at a continuing crossroads, as far as staying or leaving.... i shan't be in this state of mind for much longer but i'm just trying to get good reasons to pack the bags.... if anyone has some "meat" for me to sink my teeth into pass it my way.. haha, wow i'm spilling my guts and no one even knows me yet lol.

If you go to the search feature here there have been plenty of threads about the pyramids, Russell and a connection to the Free Masons...if I recall correctly (I am probably not) a few people have made connections to the knights templar.
The pyramid chronology had to be my favorite eye-opener.
There are also some really great personal experiences posters have shared about 1975. More compelling stuff.
Good luck in your quest--keep us posted when you find your link. My own personal opinion is that they aren't smart enough to be that sinister. I think personally they are a well meaning and completely misguided bunch of people who had nut-jobs found them. Therefore the nutjobs are still in the faith, and everyone else is working hard to try and cover their nut-job history, and the nut-jobs still within the ranks.

The United Nations was a good place to start...there are lots of things, and lots of reasons why people got fed up with the JW faith and walked away...you're pretty much going to have to figure out your own reasons.
My own insights and reason why I left: I studied other religions, I didn't think the JW's could claim to be special or have a monopoly on God, I didn't like the game of favorites I saw being played out time and again, I didn't like the strict interpretation of rules that were supposed to be left to the individual to decide but never were.
Those were my reasons...what has you questioning, and digging?

one of the things that helped joanne cope with being brought up in a religious cult, was her fantastic sense of humour and her love of reading.
joanne told me that she and a friend used to be so board during the meetings, they would play word games just to pass the time.

it would seem obvious that a low number of responders to a thread is indicative that the thread is of little or no interest to the other posters on the board.

But still things which I post sometimes seem to be of little interest to others - PS the same occurs in real life where some things I get really excited about discussing seem to be of little or no interest to others. When that happens a person starts to question themselves and their place in the world.
So you haven't found your niche yet.
I have had plenty of posts that I put a lot of time effort and some actual thought into (I know coming from me isn't that like totally whack and some sh*t?) and gotten one or two responses. Not what I hoped for. I think I am an idealist sometimes and think--"Wow this is so cool, certainly my fellow posters will want to hash this out with me!"...apparently not.
It's all about quality and not quantity. Sure we'd love to have our posts/thoughts spark a flurry of posts. But when it doesn't happen I am always thankful for the few well-meaning and equally well thought posts I do get to my threads--few as they may be sometimes.
So you end up developing a closer bond with a few posters here. Far more satisfying then a drive by fluff-o-ramma thread...(I think).
