  ok, i don't see a problem with having a homosexual person looking after a child, but this quote caught my attention:.

  Ok this is just out and out bad reporting and twisting the information...it makes it sound like these books are on the same shelf next to each other and that each gay or lesbian big brother or sister passes out these books as reading material. This has NOTHING to do with the issue of a gay lesbian mentor.

  Frankly Daddy's Roomate is just a kids book, which explains to kids there are some boys and girls who come from same sex parent households. Calling this PROMOTION of sexuality is a little insane. Also Alyson Publications publishes lots of literature on homosexuality. They are a gay publishing company. These does not mean they market a childs book like Daddy's Roomate along with the other books listed. Should they be publishing things like that, that's not my call to make, I find things like that distasteful, but that's me. What they publish is their agenda. Usually publishing houses like this one take risks and publish things other publishing houses won't. But again, this is poor reporting which is misrepresenting this information, and again HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A GAY/LESBIAN MENTOR!!

  The Meaning of Names....?

  there are some that are obvious and then others that just baffle me to no end..... yes i am talking about your user names.... do any of you have stories behind them or are they significant for some reason or are they just a word you made up?.

  mine...well its easy.... i got the nickname of spicy back in nov of last year when i dyed my hair this crazy red color and the name of the color was "spiced ginger".

  the rest of it is because i love to make things more interesting---- sorta of like adding a bit of spice to the stew (hopefully i come across as that as well .

  Well my name is Joanna...duh, and when I met my best friend Jon for the first time, for some reason he asked what my middle name was. I told him it was too awful to even utter, and he said "Your middle name is Dandy?" From then on he always called me joannadandy. And no I over use Dandy in my everyday vocab, so it fits.

  Actually this reminds me of the passage in the Jehovah book given out at this past convention...

  There is a paragraph that states that a guilty heart will make people want to confess their sins and they should go to the elders to do so. So even the dubs believe in confession, tho it's not as ritualized as that of the Catholics.

  Was it the bible or Jehovahs witnesses?

  was it the bible you started to doubt or jehovahs witnesses ?.

  with me it was the bible which i could not reconcile with common sense , obviously from that i could see jw' s were certainly wrong.but many here still believe the bible.. why?if you can't trust a group of men who are alive today in brooklyn how can you trust people who are long dead , and have no chance of speaking to?.

  it worries me that i believed in jehovahs witnesses.it worries me more that so many feel they broke free from brainwashing etc only to still believe the bible.. jehovahs witnesses are flawed because they try to follow the bible which in turn is a flawed book.

  Cool thoughts Sleepy--

  Personally I doubted religion, which caused me to abandon the JW's and only now am I starting to doubt the bible as well. And I must say I totally agree with you, I don't understand how some people seem to leap out of the fire and into the frying pan so to speak. I know that will anger a lot of devout people on this board, but that is my humble opinion.

  Meditation--good times!! No not the no fun crappy type the WT Society always harped about. I'm sure lots of you know this technique already.

  Right before bed when I am really stressing I take a hot steamy bath with rose oil, go to my room, put on the softest music I have, get comfy by either laying on my back all stretched out, or just sitting on the floor. Then pick an object to focus your attention on. I have a niffty little candle I let burn. Focus on your object and mentally relax your muscles. I always start at my toes and work my way up, feeling and forcing the tension out of my legs, torso, shoulders, neck and finally till the top of my head. Then just focus on your object and try not to think of anything. No-demons will not flood your mind, I promise! After doing that for a good 20 min, I am whiped and pass out on my bed. All stress is melted and gone.

  Adjusting underwear in public & other crap

  have you ever been somewhere in public and without any warning what so ever your underwear decides to place you in a german suplex?

  i was a victim this afternoon at lunch, i was in the middle of the cafeteria and i got so tangled up that even certain hairs were intertwined.

  i felt like screaming, somehow i managed to ease my way to the washroom and straighten out matters.. i'm throwing out all my briefs when i get home.

  Shaving however leaves little bumps...and you need to redo it within a day or two...not to mention, maybe it's just me and my symetry sucks, but you can never get the landing strip right, mine is always lopsided and then it all must go.

  Nair is right out--BURNING!! Not good in the dark regions!

  I hate to say it but waxing is the way to go. Have a few stiff martinis and begin with the waxing of the bikinis!

  for example, the meeting ending early or better yet, being cancelled.

  I think my all time favorite moments were when you would get someone who had a return visit, and it would end up taking half the morning--YEAH! You got to sit in the car, until they came back and then they would say-"Sheesh I am sorry, you didn't get to take any doors" And you could always reply with "Oh well it's ok, I'm glad you had such a great call"
