This was already announced in our congregation I believe last week. Very odd it was read "prior" to the date instructed.

New Rumor: Downsizing Circuits/Assemblies
by metatron inheard a new rumor that:.
the borg is going to phase out big district assemblies - so they can fit 'em in assembly halls.. they will reduce the size of circuits.
they will synchronize c.o.
-

Synching up the COs is definitely going to happen starting this Sept 2012. For example if a CO was assigned for the 2011-2012 service year they will either serve for 1 year and receive a new assignment or serve as the CO for 4 years.
Getting rid of the DC would be great but would never work in MA since the Natick Assembly Hall is being used almost every weekend as it is. Combining circuits would be extremely difficult since attendance is usually at capacity. In addition, the DC at UMass Amherst Mullins Center is cheap (relatively speaking), they only charge utilities used etc and rental fee since the WTS is considered an "educational organization". Amherst, MA is probably the most inconvenient place to have a DC. The campus is located in Western MA in the middle of nowhere. The DC used to be held in Providence, RI which was centrally located. Driving to Amherst is getting old and people are tired of the inconvenience.

Not surprised they changed their minds.
Is it me or was there a grammatical error?
Towards the end of the letter ....."we would not object to making such available to you hear at Bethel." I
I believe it should be "here" not "hear.

Elder arranges for Convicted JW Child Abuser to go on study w/woman & kids
by blondie inhttp://silentlambs.org/newsletter/newsletteritem.cfm?sendoutid=294
now heroux has done a year in prison, followed by home confinement for two years on an electronic bracelet, probation for two years and parole for life.
it was later discovered after heroux was newly released from prison that an elder in his new congregation was in the process of arranging for heroux to conduct a bible study with a woman and her two small children.

What congregation is he attending NOW? Is he still in Attleboro Falls?
Last I heard he attends the Seekonk, MA congregation. I was visiting his circuit last year and noticed him there. Made me sick to my stomach that he can attend where there are literally tons of children running around and some unsupervised.

Is it time for the Patterson Property to be SOLD?
by Momma-Tossed-Me inwith the discontinuation of the gilead school and the quote from wtbts saying that they are much less industrial now and more administrative, wouldn't it make since to sell this property as well?.
what good is it now?
a whole infrastructure in one location dedicated to education that takes place in 3-4 classrooms and is on the decline?.

I highly doubt it. They have a huge presence in the graphics world/art dept including many other administrative depts. The heavies are there to manage for example the cover of the awakes/WTs.

As a JW - Did you See Meetings Continue in Spite of Medical Emergencies?
by flipper ini was talking the other day with a fellow board member about medical emergencies occuring at meetings and how we both agreed that we ( while jw's ) had never seen a meeting stop or be cancelled due to medical emergencies experienced by a fellow jw.
the wt society trains jw' s to lose their authentic human feelings or any empathy towards others physical or emotional sufferings many times.
so many times at meetings , in spite of someone suffering a serious medical emergency it was " the show must go on " type of attitude displayed by congregation elders.. my first experience at seeing a medical emergency at the kingdom hall was an older sister who had an epileptic attack.

I have had the same experiences as some here with the meeting still going on during an emergency.

Why do you think the list of Service Group members isn't posted at KH?
by oppostate inwhy do you think the service group members list isn't posted on the kingdom hall announcement board anymore?
-

Do you mean the FS group "list" of the congregation publishers? In all the KHs I have attended/visited there was a list of who are assigned to what group.
