I still have self-worth issues from being born-in. I am female, so I don't know if it is the same for the guys, but I imagine in most cases, it is similar. But even when I am very low, I am still so grateful that I am not "in" anymore. My personality is still somewhat the same. I still like people in general and want to be friends with just about everyone, but I don't allow myself to be stepped on as much as I used to. I don't have to be nasty, but I also don't have to go crawling back for a second, or third, or one-hundredth helping of humiliation and regret. I love people in general, but I am a little better at detecting bullsh*t when I hear it.

Three Strikes "YOUR OUT!"
by N.drew in1. the watchtower propagates lies.
the people of the watchtower are forgiving because "what man does not lie?
" .. 2. they lie in the name of truth.

Cult mindset. They are right, regardless of how ridiculous the things they do are and how many lives they destroy. People can justify the most inhuman of acts by saying "I did what Jehovah directed through his faithful and discreet slave".

EX JW teen just signs with legendary producer!!!!!
by Lady Liberty indear friends,.
it has been a long time since i have posted.
time heals much pain, and finally, my family and i have been able to move on with our life outside of jw land.. many of you became our friends, our support system, and you know very well our exit story...we were labeled, slandered and disfellowshipped for having questions regarding the date 607. we sent out letters exposing the elders and circuit overseer to over 200 families.

Lady Liberty--- Awesome! I have no children, but I can feel the pride just like you. That is so exciting for Ashley and for you and Black Pearl. Congratulations! And congrats on 27 years of marriage and raising a driven, bright young woman! Kudos to you.

RandR---It is completely reprehensible behavior by the elders. I am so sorry that your cousin, and your grandfather were treated so callously. It is very sad that they were able to force your cousin from the room. Prideful, arrogant b*st*rds.
Sizemik----- I'm with you!
Designs---- I like the idea of submitting the story to the newspaper! People should know.

Being on the other side of the door
by Found Sheep inhow many times (i can't even count them all) did you as a jw say "why would they answer the door in that?
" you know the 1/2 dressed or just not in shape for a visit.
so today, as i have stated, my internet has been down.

When I am at home, I am almost always wearing my comfy stuff, and usually that does not include a bra. I'm talking like striped pajama pants, and a totally mismatched t-shirt of my husbands. Hair all crazy, no makeup. Its pretty frightening.
I had the cable guy come early one morning before I expected the visit, it was rather embarrassing. He went upstairs and I had to quickly and quietly sneak into the room where my dresser was and throw on a bra as fast as I could. But then when you think about it, they have probably seen things a whole lot more shocking!

How many people on here have low self-esteem?
by Chemical Emotions ini do, so i was just curious.. i know the org tends to attract/cause/contribute to people having low self-esteem, so i figure a lot of people must have it as bad or worse than me..

I have had many issues with self-esteem, much of it caused by the involvement with the JWs, and much of it for the stupid things I've done trying to cope with the devastation that I felt when I learned that I had been lied to all of my life.
I am trying to work on it now, and have been for about a year. It takes a long time to recover, and I have a long way to go, but I am confident I will get to a happy place. And I know that you can too!

My really long introduction...
by Madge inokay, so i am new to the site, but i have been following ur threads for awhile now, and i am finding great comfort in them!
no, i am not a witness and i have never been, and never will be!
i did however, date a witness for about three years.. it was our typical 357th biweekly 'man hating' girls night out, and meeting mr. right was the last thing on my mind!

Madge--- I am so sorry that you are going through this, but I am so happy that you are protecting your daughter. Kudos to you! The way your guy was treated in regards to the passing of his mother is disgusting. How dare the elders try to tell him when and where he can grieve and pay his respects to her. I hope that he will reflect on the horrible way that those who fall short of their standards are treated, and compare it to the way that Jesus taught his followers to treat others. Maybe then he will come to the conclusion that this organization is most definitely NOT backed by God's spirit.
Hang in there and keep us updated! Sending good thoughts your way!

Was Your Experience As A Jehovah's Witness Good In Any Way?
by minimus ini was raised as a witness.
i could've been raised as a catholic but my mother's side of the family came into "the truth" when i was an infant.
i do believe that because of my upbringing, i was a more honest person.

Agreeing with Undercover on this one. People are individuals, and no matter the raising, there are good and bad in every family, religion, ethnicity, nation, etc. You are probably a good person just because that is you!

One sick-O needs to be put down.
by jam infor those that have not heard about mr.mark berndt, a. third- grade teacher who is charged with committing.
lewd acts on 23 boys and girls 6 to 10 between 2005. and 2010 where he taught for more than 30 years.. a game was played were he would blind-fold the kids.
and give the kids (sick) a spoon with his semen.

Prodigal Son-------- Bwaaaaaahahahahahaha!!!! That was a good one!
Editing to post about topic. He gave spoons full of his semen to blind-folded children? Makes my stomach turn, and I really do hope that he never sees the light of day again. It seems like someone who could do that is not someone that could be reformed. And even if they could, should they be released back into the population again? I hope that there is counseling made available for all the children who had to suffer at his hands. There will be lifelong struggles that they will all have to face are ones that they will need help to cope with.

Is my marriage worth saving?
by sacdfan inlong story - will make it short - i was a jw for 4 years.
hy husband took to it straigt away and has been a jw for 20 years - we were both converted by one of his workmates.
our 4 kids were all baptised jws and thankfully 3 escaped (2 disfellowshipped, one fading) - so my eldest son is still in with his dad.

DJeggnog---- I do have a bias against you because you act like a pompous creep. I don't have a bias against the other activce JWs on here because they do not offend me as you do. But remember, that is just my opinion, which I am aloud to voice. As for you telling me that I have to resign from posting for 30 days if I don't prove something to you, I am going to assume that was a joke, you know, one of those that you make with your outstanding sense of humor. Your ego seems to be quite out of control. You think that you are helping lurkers on this site to perhaps turn back to the JW religion with the kinds of posts you make? You may want to examine your reasoning there. And telling me there is nothing to win? No, there is not anything advantageous about a conversation with you. It is frustrating, which I am sure is what you are going for. But call it a weakness, I couldn't resist. I don't have a problem with active members of the religion being on here. I just have a problem with people who use this site to stir crap, like you. For the most part, we are here to build one another up, and have beneficial discussions. You are very counterproductive to this process. Once again, I feel confident that this is your aim. I think most people call that sort of poster a troll.
Sorry to all again for not staying on topic.
