UNITED NATIONS CHARTER read in all congregations at beginning of SPECIAL TALK
by Life is now inthen 1 thessalonians 5 read about 'peace and security'.
the speakers instructed not to embellish the statements.. 'noble sentiments' was mentioned about the un charter but no criticism.. followed by the need for god's kingdom.. it sounded more like an advert for the un to me.
did anyone else hear it?

Most Annoying Things That Happen At JW Meetings
by LittleSister intoday i was remembering how angry i used to get at the meetings and all the little irritations that in the end would just make my blood boil these included:.
prayers that go on foreverstudy or wt conductors still taking comments when its clear that the point has been covered 20 times alreadymeetings over running by more than 5 minsmy favourite was this one elder who would play guess the point i am thinking of.
he would keep rephrasing the question from the wt until someone would bring up the point he was thinking of.

The opening paragraph of every single KM question and answer part...starting with a reference to 1 Tim. 3:1
The brother who has not right teaching, that instead, just fills the entire study with volunteers reading every cited scripture in the lesson.
A paragraph in the Revelation book being verses from the Bible..........followed by a question like "so what does Rev. 4:4 say?" Ummmmmmmm.....we just read it.
The beginning of every demonstration part at the assembly beginning with a blow by blow biography of the person being interviewed. It sounded like they were reading off the back of a football card. I thought we weren't supposed to let our left hand know what our right hand was doing????
Parts glorifying the guy that didn't go to college, his nerdy, mal-adjusted kids, as well as his wife, who drives around in a mini-van all day knocking on the doors of empty homes.
Watching a CHILD.....get baptized.

Although, I think they are just more interested in how they can slander you to all the other 'brothers'....... they just love to get some 'dirt'.....what else are they going to talk about in field service LOL

Bizarre.....I was thinking of sitting down tonight and deleting all my JW friends and BLOCKING them too.....
I can't come to a decision as to whether its best to leave them on there and ignore them.....or delete them. Its getting around that I've disappeared.
I had one notorious gossip email me on FB to ask if "it was true.....I'm hearing rumors" .......LOL, I hit the delete button.
I'm still debating what to do; but would love to delete a bunch of them......

Oh.....and I started ignoring all JW friend requests about 3 months ago. I just delete them, block them or ignore them.

Why all your Witness friends are like Prostitutes!!!!

when you agree like a robot to everything the watchtower says.....{read...underline.....give comment.....repeat} like prostitutes who adore you when your "paying" ...if the money stops flowing they are gone!
people you've known for 15 years....you took them to hospital....lent them money.....grieved with them....gone.

Its a spot on parallel.
Try being an elder.......helping everyone, going out in the middle of the night, talk after talk after convention part, crying with people, helping your fellow elders keep their marriages together.........and even more importantly: spending YEARS of you life being all the elders kids go to 'bro'.....not their dads............YOU.
Its a complete and utter joke.
Their friendship is as deep as their private ambitions to be around a well liked brother and what it can do for them
When you're in need.....GOOD LUCK......when YOUR kid is in need....GOOD LUCK.
The most fake, gossipy, slanderous people I've ever known.

How Did You Find New Friends?
by daringhart13 ini'm painfully curious on this subject.. when you have devoted your entire life, your entire social circle, everything you know......to this religion....when you fade away, how did you make new friends?
how did you replace all those people you thought were your friends?.
on top of fading away....... i lost a 'relationship' with a 'sister' due to not wanting to continue as a jw.

I'm painfully curious on this subject.
When you have devoted your entire life, your entire social circle, everything you know......to this religion....when you fade away, how did you make new friends? How did you replace all those people you THOUGHT were your friends?
On top of fading away....... I lost a 'relationship' with a 'sister' due to not wanting to continue as a JW. Now all THOSE friends are dogging me for 'dogging' her......
Wow........ I know I will survive this..... but I had not considered what it would be like to pull this in my 40's.........everything.....everyONE is gone.
This is really surreal.

Were you Stalked or Chased After Once you Exited the JW's by Elders ?
by flipper ini tried to fade off the map by moving 30 miles initially in 2004 after i exited in late 2003 .
the first several years they didn't bother me.
i ran into a elder from my former congregation in late 2005 in an antique store - he tried telling me i was wrong for stopping attending meetings.

My god.......when I read these posts I feel my blood pressure rising.
No one has come after me, because they know better. Someone would be eating my elbow....and then I'd sue their ass. ...... and they all know I'd do it.
I went to a memorial for a dear sister that just died. One of the elders I've served with for years was on his way to me.....he got within 5 feet and I looked at him with eyes that could kill and lipped 'don't even think about it'.......he stopped.....and busted a move in the other direction.
I don't know why people put up with this stuff. Have them arrested for stalking if they are outside your home or around your kids. I was a very well known elder in my area...........I realize that is now to my benefit. They all know I'm not kidding.......... I'll kick their ass if they come around me or my family.

Elder called last night and they are stopping by tonite for a 'visit'.......
by troubled mind insurprised me that he actually followed up on his word and called .
it will be strange after four yrs.
to have them in our house .my husband was not happy to hear it will be two brothers coming over, because he really does not want to feel we are being counseled .

How disgusting is it that "shepherds" have let you wander for 4 years and still had the nerve to say something about putting it in writing?
