wanted to let everyone know that i've finally graduated college with a bachelors degree!

ended up earning magna cum laude.. it's difficult to describe the sense of accomplishment.

i still kick myself for listening to the wts when i was a kid and forsaking "higher education".

Jw couples

it is taken for granted that many (especially young people) in the org get married to have sex only to realise later how wrong was their choice.i want to say that a great number of married jws got bored and are unhappy with their partners.am i wrong?.

You are not wrong. However, I am not bored - to much in life to keep me busy. Unhappy yes. Unhappy to realize that I got married for two reasons (of course at that time I thought it was love):

Get away from a controlling father & for sex. So instead I got into a controlling relationship and sex became my duty and so did everything else.

I'd say 75% of the people that got married when we did are long divorced. The WT does such an injustice to young people by making them live up to impossible standards of conduct and forcing marriage. You marry a stranger at a point in your life when you don't even know who you are.

It's sad and it's awful and has caused a LOT of heartache.

on t v i recently saw some of the film "knowledge" starring nicholas cage .

the idea of the film was that the main character had knowledge of coming disasters .

he was distraught - desperate - panicking to try and stop it happening.

It freaked me out! I had nightmares of it sometimes. I always wondered what the heck there was to look forward to and all the excitement about complete destruction. I was also scared for me and my family because I never felt we were good enough to survive. What sick manipulation and mind control!

I remember sitting in an assembly and the governing body member telling us to look around the next time we are in a place where there are a lot of worldly people and to remember that they will all be devoted to destruction by God and there will only be a few standing and how we should be awaiting in anticipation. Then everyone clapped! I just sat there thinking "are you serious - we are clapping for death and destruction?" They are psycho. Sick.

Generation & "Even when you don't understand/feel uncomfortable with it..."

i had been getting my hope up that this new generation teaching wouldn't make sense and cause my jw friends and family to wake up.i even asked my mom to explain the new generation teaching, but she didn't even know what i meant!

Yes - they bring out all the drivel don't they. I know people usually do pull out the Red Sea bit. What I say is - Well that's right they did follow Moses and had no idea what was going to happen and it seemed wrong and they did have to trust in him and in God. BUT - what would have happened if he went up to the Sea and NOTHING HAPPENED? And they WAITED and WAITED and WAITED for DECADES and then were told - hang on, trust in God he said he has some new light for us! How many of them would still be there?

If Moses was wrong - it would have been self-evident very soon!

No - I always thought is was none of their business. I NEVER trusted the elders - especially their wives who clawed everything out of them only to let it be the topic for discussion at the next field circus car group. Confidentiality at its best!

I have found the truth about the truth now...

i am a third generation of jehovah witnesses, even if i never got baptized.

however, they disfellowship me when i was around 15. this was around 1987. even if i have not been in the "truth" for so many years it has affected all my life in many ways not only negative.

a couple of years ago i thought the events in the world maybe proved to me that they were right after all.

Welcome Truthseeker12! Good for you to do all that research - it's amazing the connections you find when you look and read. No wonder they don't want people to get educated - they will NEVER stand up to the research and the truth.

JW practicing form of witchcraft

my grandmother practises/used to practise spells,would go to mediums,and believe in witchery-related things.she is an active jw and the elders had been told about that and they said that there is no evidence and the case closed but there were 2-3 witnesses.no jc and no disfellowshipping.why did this happen?any similar experiences?.

Interesting ceremony XPeterX! My grandmother was into fortune telling, table levitation, palmistry and tea leave reading and all that kinda stuff. The 'demons' never bothered her when she found 'the truth.' Interestingly enough - they have started to bother her SINCE I pointed out it's not the truth.

The fact of the matter is the WTBTS is NOT interested in truth - it is interested in POWER & CONTROL - all the money they syphon from people helps them in this. The organization itself is not clear of occult practices. You do a little research about them and it becomes obvious why they don't really care.

Russell was into magic, astrology, pyramidolgy, phrenology. Rutherford was into autowriting, astrology, necromancy, and he believed demons who repented can earn their way back by delivering godly messages to humans. They used Johannes Greber's translation of some verses of the bible and he is known to get information from the spirit world. I know a lot of people don't think symbols mean anything but that's like saying our words don't mean anything - they are symbols as well and they have meaning. Symbols are placed in the WT and Awake and on publications for a reason. It's interesting to see what a watchtower stands for in Enochian magic. Sygil magic is another use of symbols. Child abuse is HIGHLY linked to occult activities and there is a LOT of child abuse going on and hidden in this awful cult.

A little off the topic sorry - but you may see why magic is not such a big deal in the big picture. The society itself is not clear of the occult.
