  i don't expect that i'll write it perfectly as it needs to be articulated in different ways for different people...but i will do my best.

  and worst of all, i am not expecting any kind of response that will satisfy me.

  The Global Flood

  i've just read an intersting article on the flood to do with dates and whether is was truly global or a regional flood.. http://www.commentarypress.com/essay-flood.html.

  my father used to be an elder for many years and the flood was one of the things that made him walk away not just from the jw but also belief in the bible.

  he was hung up on issues like the flood taking place about 3500 bc and how that fit in with the pyramids.. i don't know much about egyptian history or the ages of the big pyramids, but his reasoning was if the flood wiped out every human on earth except noah etc then at 3500 bc there were only 8 people on earth.

  First of all: There is NO global flood.The flood that was mentioned in the Bible it took place in the Mesopatamia region. Plus we have a floods that occured during the ages. The last one took place 10.500 ago, when the Ice Age finished. We have many accounts in human history of floods.From Greece (and Greeks have not one but THREE major floods, and these floods indicates to us that human history is not just 6000 years but much older) to Australia to Indians to Chineese.

  We have written records from Greece that indicate to us human history more than 10.500, Chinas records go back 6000 years, and Egyptian records again 10.500. This records include the reigns of the Kings, and Astronomical Observations that they are the most accurate to establish a chronological event.

  There is also something that the WT never told us. That there are TWO Bible Texts regarding the Genesis account. The translation of the 70 and the Masoritic text. The last one goes back 7500 years and it is exactly the time of the Mesopotamian civilazation starts to exist.

  The Watchtower NEVER explain to us the passage in Genesis that God have seen His works and they were okey. In the Greek text it says- lian kala - λίαν καλά - that means the creation was GOOD, NOT PERFECT. There is a lot of difference from being GOOD and PERFECT. And Adam was created GOOD.

  In the Greek Orthodox faith Adam received the Spirit of God and was created in the Spiritual sense. God gave to Adam the Soul and this is God's gift to humans. So humans have a Soul by the Grace of God.

  Adam was living in Mesopotamia and the Genesis account it is dealing with descendants of Adam. Again in Genesis account we have Cain that left and went and created a city. To creat a city means that they were also many other people living at that time and couldn't just be ONLY his sisters and brothers.

  So if there was a global flood how come pyramids were build from the years 2700-2450 few years before the Flood that was supposed to bring down everything?

  And if the earth was flooded how come we have all these pypyrus in Egypt and mammies that haven't been destroyed from water? Because pypyrus and mammies NEED A DRY PLACE

  Because if the flood covered and Egypt also, water would have destroyed EVERYTHING. In fact Egypt has been a dry place for more than 12.000 years.

  How come and we have a specific kind of animal species in the Globe that are living in specific places? For instance kangooro's are found only in Australia, Pandas in China, iguanas only in Calambago Islands, and Polar Bears in the Poles?

  Earth surface and climate has been changing all the time. As a result of this changes continents were communicating with each other. After MILLIONS of years they split and only trough water someone could communicate. Animals start to adjust accordingly to the climate conditions that they had to face in order to survive. We find prehistoric humans livivg among with animals that ceased to exist tens of thousands of years ago, and we can see this at their cave paintings. Long ago before the Neolithic era 12.500 years ago.

  Indeed we find Australopithicus, Homo Erectus, Neantertal that they were humanoids. There is NO wrong for Evolution, specially if God guided this process.

  So the Bible is not a historic book or an ORGANIZATIONAL book. It deals with the salvation of the SOUL.

  it's been over a year now since my dad died.

  i feel sad about it a lot because i don't believe i will never see him again.

  i realised today that being raised a dub has closed my eyes to different views on death.

  The soul is the gift of God to humans. This soul came to existence when God created Adam. Adam is not the first human that was created on earth. In fact humans have been for tens of thousand of years on earth. Adam received the spiritual form of God. That is why we have the soul. The soul never dies it exists as an indivitual person knowing exactly who that person was.

  Do you know of any "baptized" JW's that committed suicide or attempted?

  i remember one of my childhood friends was found dead and the police said he committed suicide.

  i just could not believe it because my friend was a "devout" jw almost franatical about it.

  now years later since i have seen both sides of the coin i am beginning to wonder if my friend did indeed kill himself.

  Before JWs existed?

  i have a not-so simple question.... what would or have jws explained about any existence prior to charles taze russell's "epiphany" that he had discovered jehovah and the absolute truth surrounding jehovah.. the thing that i'm really picking at is i don't think many jws realize that their religion was formed by a mere mortal.

  a human being who considered himself a prophet.

  if such a man was to declare himself a prophet post-jw startup, jws would consider him part of "babylon" or manifestations of "satan himself!".

  Before JW's existed there was the Christian Church that stands for 2000 years, and needs no false prophet made in U.S.A to tell us what do the scriptures say. Specially the New Testament that was written in Greek.

  In order to JW's to exist they had to accept the Bible Canon that was accepted by several Orthodox Bishops in Synodos. So if they accept the Canon so they must accept those who set the Bible Canon

  i studied as much about different religions as i could and read every book available to me.

  Welcome to the forum.

  This are some words from a Greek ex-Jw and I hope that they will help you.

  The WT doctrine it is based on the date 607 B.C Without this date there is NO WATCHTOWER or faithfull slave. WT claims that Jerusalim was destroyed at that year, and they add 2520 years (time of the Gentiles) and they reach to 1914(Jesus invisible coming). The all idea it is wrong because they take another Bible passage(as they usual do) that has NO connection with the Daniel passage and they turn days to years.

  The most devastating it is that NOT even the Bible prooves their claim that Jerusalim was destroyed at the year 607 B.C. In the book of Zechariah clearly tell us that Jerusalim was destroyed at 587 B.C. ALL ARCHAIOLOGICAL evidence points that year, that it is in Harmony with Bible. If you look at Jewish web sides regarding Israel History they also have as 587 B.C as a FACT. So who knows better their history. The Jews or a guy named Charles Russell from Pensylvania who didn't have ANY biblical education, got this date from the Pyramids(pyramidology is a occult religion). Only WT it is so proud NOT to accept their mistake and still preaching the wrong date because it will BLOW UP their theological stracture that is why they still hold on to that date.

  So will you support a religion that preach a FALSE GOSPEL?

  Back in the 1980's many JW at Bethel found out this FACT. And quess what happened. They ALL have been disfellowshiped and labaled as apostates, because they show the TRUTH to the GB. So WT preffers UNITY instead of TRUTH.

  WT's Bible it is the worst Bible Translation EVER. Since I'm Greek it very easy for me to see that. They just change words to FIT their teachings. For example WT has replace the word Cross(because they don't beleive in Cross) with the word "kremmamenos epi xylou-κρεμμάμενος επί ξύλου" =hanging from the wood. Even if you don't accept the cross(Mormons also do)the translation must be ACCURATE.But again the symbol of Christianity has been rejected by the second president of the WT Rutherford who changed many of the doctrines of Russell and turn JW's the way they are today.

  At 2 Corinthians verse 2 St Paul says that the cross it a foolish thing for the Gentiles and a discrase for the Jews, but for us it is a glory. Again the WT despite the Biblical and historical evidence that Jesus died on a cross still reject the TRUTH again.

  WT it is quilty for false prophesies that they NEVER came true. They believed that Jesus presence was in 1874 and Armageddon WILL occured at 1914. At 1918 they preached that the holy ones will be errapted to heavens. In 1925 they were waiting the resurection of the prophets to lead Armageddon. In 1942 they also were waiting for Armageddon. In 1975 again. They claimed that the generation of 1914 will NOT PASS untill the end comes. The generation doctrine changes in 1995 again and the end is fluid!!!

  So will you join a religion that teaches lies? Your future it is in your hands. We just gave you an idea what is really the WT

  How many went to heaven in the first century?

  if william josephus estimated that by the end of the first century, there were about 1,000,000 christians, and paul wrote that the good news .

  had been preached "in under all creation", then why did john say in revelation that only 144,000 would go to heaven?.

  why were those who numbered more than 144,000 christians prior to john's revelation in 96ad not informed that there hope was invalid?

  No one can tell the actual number, but for sure there are hundred of thousands of Christians that died in the first century for Christ, not to mention also those who died from natural courses.

  That means the number should be millions.

  The number 144.000 is symbolical,and the book of Revelation is a symbolic book. The ignorance of the GB and the fact that they don't know Greek the language that the New Testament was written, has led them to be the most rediculous religion group in the world today.

  Revelation chapter 19 verse 1 clearly says: And I heart the voice of a great multitude in HEAVEN.

  So they are in heaven and NO one can challenge this!!!

  ok, we all know the scripture where paul says "...i know a man in union with christ who, 14 years ago, was caught away to the third heaven.....whether in the body or apart from the body i do not know...he was caught away into paradise and heard unutterable words which it is not lawful or a man to speak.

  according to the october 15th watchtower, you wanna know what exactly this means?

  paragraph 9 says "....it would involve the christian congregation......when was that vision to be fulfilled?
