don't get me wrong, it does suck.
but after being on ex-jw boards for years, and being df'ed for almost 10; i do see some hidden blessings.. first, you do not have to struggle with fading successfully.
you are just out; the cord has been cut.
It's also easier when you see a JW in public.. you don't have to prepare an excuse as to why you are inactive, they just run away from you so they don't catch the apostasy virus. I'm inactive for as long as they don't DF me, but I don't have any real objections to getting DF'd. Secretly I hope they DF me for something stupid, like getting caught eating a blood sausage or something like that.

Stuff like this makes me angry.
theres a scripture much touted by the jw's, goes somthing like " who has not lost brothers, sisters etc and not got tons more etc" ... no i ain't going to bother to look it up.. this was always offered as a great compensation for upsetting your family with your extreme jw beliefs.
but i never found it to be true.
yeah you went to the meetings and your so called spritual family was there.
Try any social club, any, a stamp collector club, a flower arrangement club, a soccer club, a book club. The relationships built there are more genuine and last longer than any in the kingdom hall.
tuesday night, i drove to a couple of older sister's homes, and dropped off their magazines, and kindom ministries.
thursday night, i went to the meeting and cleaned and locked up the building.
i also dropped someone off who earlier recieved a ride to the hall but their ride couldn't come back to take them home.
MLE, I want to give you a thought. There never is a good time to quit. You can't wait for the right time to stop, because there never will come a right time to stop. Never.
Stop waiting. Just stop at the wrong time. Stop now. Now is as good as any.

what do the facts show?
Why do they even mention earthquakes.. first Jesus is not even clear that there should be an increase, or a that it is a sign (do not be misled). Then they deny their own statements in the same paragraph. Just drop the earthquakes, stop making a fool out of yourself.

if i understood correctly, one of the ideas advanced as proof of jehovah's witnesses beliefs is that of the kings of the north and the south.
i didn't understand much of it, to a large extent because i think it's nonsense, but something else i did find curious.. the king of the north was the soviet union, and the king of the south were the united states.
i am not sure the soviet union is "north" of the united states in any sense (think of alaska), but, that aside, what kind of theological distress resulted when the king of the north crumbled to pieces?
I think it's great that the society can admit they don't know something. It's the best of their doctrines.
if you get a chance, read the latest daniel publication (about 11 years old ...) on page 59-60. whats happening in the middle east and north africa is a fulfillment of that prophecy.. love,.

By the way, how can somebody who is not a prophet still make prophecies?
