I feel sorry for just about everyone else.. even the elder's wife

i've been busy with with being busy after knowing ttatt.

after this sunday's meeting i was invited over by one congregation elder's wife to an afternoon coffee.

we're not very close because of the age gap but we've "known" each other for so many years now, being in the same congregation.. she is like the anchor of the group.

Listening and being a non-judgemental friend is more important than giving her advise ohnightdivine. Just ask her simple questions about how she feels, what causes her to feel sad, and what makes her feel happy. The more you learn about her, the easy it will be to help her to search the internet for possible solutions.

If you know her email address, in a couple of months you could send her an anonymous email with a short note like "Is something really bothering you but you don't know why? Find how to bring balance to your life that you want by visiting www.freedomofmind.com (or get it off your chest by posting on www.jehovahs-witness.net)"

the sister she was studying with i knew, from my ex kh.. i saw them again today.

i acted on the advice from my previous post and wrote a note.

Helping your Loved one correlate WT mind control by exposing OTHEr groups

ive been watching "the following" lately and my wife watched a few episodes with me.

she couldnt fathom at first the depth that mind control or "destructive influence" can take you.

so in accordance with hassans "freedom of mind" i have decided that exposing other cults to my wife will help me help her to find correlations to the wt and hopefully lead her to the bite model.

Hi Jon Preston, As long as you only help your wife understand what is BITE control using non-WTBTS organizations and do not make direct comparisons with the WTBTS, you should do well helping your wife to critically think for herself. The easiest group to compare to are the Pharisees and Sadducees using the Bible, because the Bible shows how Jesus Christ felt about them.

i have bdd, it isn't just the meetings it's everything.

i don't want to go but i feel guilty of not going cause he said everyone is wondering where i am, but i dont want anyone to see my face... and tomorrow they said they'll call me to make sure im going but it's so tough.

also how do i cancel talks thx.. .

Hi Demokan, Fear of public speakng where you don't talk, stuttering, talking softly, making lots of pronounciation errors, and saying "No thank you." sound like good ways to me to avoid being asked to speak in talks. The more mistakes that you make; the less you will be asked to speak.

You are young and your parents have enough doubts that in a couple of years they will stop shunning you, because they will learn that it is pointless. Shunning you will not bring you closer to them or the Watchtower.

My JW mom is coming to visit this Friday!!

my parents are recent converts to jw (both baptized).

i was never a jw, but did study with them for a long time.

after doing research, my husband and i quit going to meetings and stopped the bs.

Faithful Witness - We talked a little bit about this, and I did pose the question, "So, do you think the GB speaks for God?" She did not even take a breath before saying, "Yes. I do." Scary. Oops. i found the switch to her cult persona, but we quickly got back to normal dinner conversation and visiting with the kids.

Hi Faithful Witness, You are doing great recognizing how to turn off and off your mother's cult persona. I'm glad that you, your family, and your Mom had a great time together. I hope that you have many more.

When your relationship is more secure and after your Mom starts asking you more questions, you should ask that same question again, but then ask her where it is written in the Bible. At one time didn't the Pharisees and Sadducees represent God on earth and spoke for God to Jews, but than Jesus Christ came. Why would God want an organization of imperfect men to represent him when he has the Holy Spirit to communicate directly with people?

Hi EdenOne, I'm glad that you emerged relatively unscathed.

I hope that you continue with the family worship night by reading the Bible with your family to help them detect the BITE control techniques that the Pharisees and Sadducees used to victimize Jews and how Jesus Christ felt about it. Let you family critically think for themselves to connect the dots.

It is sad that elders are more enthusiastic about feretting out critically thinking JWs, instead of paedophiles who molest children.

i know this has been rehashed, time and again, but i saw this interesting blip on jw.org last night, and did a little thinking about it.... jw.

org answers the important question that so many have... are jehovah's witnesses a cult?.

Hi Faithful Witness, My problem with using the WTBTS's definitions of cult is that it is the WTBTS's definition and not defined by independent cult experts. Since the WTBTS does not believe in higher education, believes in studying WTBTS propagand more than the Bible, and prints/distributes propaganda as well as holds several weekly indoctination sessions for JWs, when/how did the leaders/writers of the WTBTS become "Trusted" experts to defining what constitutes a cult? They belong to a dangerous cult!!

From my point of view the WTBTS uses "Theologic Warfare Strategy" (i.e., deceit and/or obsfucation) to refute its own definitions, such as writing "Some think of a cult as being a dangerous religious sect with a human leader.". Who are the some who think of a cult as being a dangerous religious sect with only one human leader? WTBTS writers/leaders are who. Why can't the GB be viewed as a single leader at the top of a hierarchical organization since only the GB can elect/remove members to/from it instead of being elected/removed by all JWs through elections? Also, the WTBTS's definition does not even define what makes a sect dangerous.

IMHO an organization/sect is dangerous whenever it uses BITE control techniques to victimize its members to follow its leaders, or when it takes actions to protect the organization's image to the deteriment of its members' basic human rights and welfare.
