Is there ever a reconcilliation between the number of books and magazines placed against the numbers recieved by the congregation, say on a yearly basis?

Tech49 on HOURS, TIME, and REPORTS
by Tech49 ini thought i would share some of my observations on counting field service time, reports, etc.
and how those reports are viewed, to those that are still so fixated on numbers.. i served as secretary on the service committee for many years, and have seen it all!.
i was really disheartened when wt changed the requirement for aux pioneering to allow for 30 hrs, instead of the 50 it has been for so long.

Moral dilemma: to tell my husband or not to tell him...
by Julia Orwell inthat his jw best friend he hasn't seen in ages is coming for holidays from where he now lives overseas.
this jw friend was instrumental in getting my husband into the cult before we met.
i heard from a jw from my old cong who just emailed me.

Personaly I don't think you have any choice. Given that they are really great friends then he is going to contact him and you are right, not telling him could leave him with bad feelings about you.
Given that he is likely to learn of his visit anyway, it could be to your great advantage to tell him. It gives you plenty of time to discuss his feelings and how he might handle his lack of inactivity with his friend.

I think that I could get my husband Df'd
by ingimar inthere are some things that i wish the local congregation knew about my husband but i am not sure how to inform them.. my husband was a jw in a previous marriage but none of his family are jw's except for one half sister who he recently met for the first time.
his ex wife is no longer a believer either and their three adult kids want nothing to do with the jw's.. i met my husband 8 years ago on eharmony.
i should have been leary when he stated his religion as "christian".

Sorry to hear about your rare blood disease Ingamar.
I agree, it is pointless to out your husband and is likely to lead to some damage. It is lovely that your husband has stopped attending for the time being and it gives you an idea of what he thinks is more important. Show your appreciation and hope that he keeps it up.
You may be walking a fine line but you could ask him to stop this elder (or anyone else) from visiting. In the meantime use TTATT (the truth about the truth) so that he doesn't become fully brainwashed again.
Some ex-jw's feel guilt for having left and are not 100% sure that the JWs are not the true religion, you need to concentrate on this aspect. An excellant book is Crisis of Conscience written by an ex Governing Body member and sheds a lot of light on the religion as well as removing that guilt feeling.

Thanks Blondie, you do a great job.
"14,15 Despite the spread of apostasy, what has Jehovah done about his memorial name?"
That does the term 'memorial name' even mean? He is a living God.
"Granted, its exact pronunciation cannot now be determined, but the name has endured."
How can a name endure if it can't be pronounced? Surely, it could only endure in the written form.

Alaues you can write to the same centres that B. Anderson wrote to, that way you will have first hand proof. If you use the search button up on the left hand side you will find plenty of pictures. There's also a link on this thread.
Just out of curiosity what are you refuting?

A knock-down argument against the WBTS interpretation of Matt 24:45-47!
by yadda yadda 2 inthe wbts teaches that in 1919 jesus inspected all of christendom and appointed the wbts "over all his belongings" in fulfillment of matthew 24:45-47: "who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so.
truly i say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.".

Yadda, it is posts like this that expose the nonsense that the GB is teaching. Are we supposed to believe that the GB recieved new light from Jah on this matter or have they instead listened to reason and accepted apostate reasonings?

WTS is ADVERTISING in local newspapers
by still thinking ini just opened our local paper to discover a half page add on the front page for jehovahs witnesses... more to be read on page 4 and 5 where there are two half page articles.
that must have cost them.. they are obviously trying to soothe the public into thinking that jws are harmless...let them into your homes.

It's not your normal ex-jw story in that it is really frank. There is a lot of discussion about sex and this appears to be what ultimately woke Maurica (the former bethelite) up. It also discusses JW sexual repression from a female's point of view.
Maurica's story has been re-written (or reported) by Richard Kelly so it is unkown as to how 'dressed up' this story has been made but it actually reads more like a colorful novel than real life and makes for an enjoyable read. I say enjoyable because Maurica is not longer naive (like most JWs) and I don't doubt she is in a much better place.
It is a real good lesson in how the sexual repression encouraged by the JWs screws people's lives up.
