Chain of correspondence with Society regarding pedophilia

i have been given permission by barbara anderson to relay some interesting correspondence related to the society's negiligent approach to child abuse.

it should be said at the outset that these letters are anonymous, and the only thing that can be said with certainty is that they are letters addressing the subject of child abuse that were likely sent some time between 1997 and 2004.. with names and dates having been removed, it is impossible to verify the events described in these letters, although if true, they betray a shocking arrogance and apathy on the part of the society.

they also describe pedophiles running virtually unchecked in certain congregations with little or no safeguards for their victims.

Probably because others did not read the same into the letters. It is somewhat vague and possibly perplexing therefore that less info is not given. But the letter does not say the jw's tampered with brakes and caused death. The car accidents where deaths resulted were non-witnesses and we are not able to get from the letter exactly what allegations are being made or if any are. I think the purpose of posting these is to get a feel for how the society responds to these problems and for that purpose they show them for what/who they are.

This is so absolutely true and so very telling about the "new light, light getting brighter" bull. Why doesn't new light manifest itself in simply evolving beliefs, as in filling out or expanding understanding of some matter. Because this would contain an element of "we had it a bit wrong" but thanks to the light getting brighter we now have a fuller more correct understanding. What they do is, as you pointed out bring in a "new understanding/new light/brighter light", and one that usually makes no sense at all and then blame it on the holy spirit. Not much different than the worldly "the devil made me do it" which is at least generally used in a joking way.

More "Elders" Doubt They Are Appointed By The "Holy Spirit"!

it's confounding the society does not realize that more and more elders, do not accept this claim.

i have racked my brain, wondering how many brothers and sisters actually believe this, fall hook and sinker.

Any servant (jw man) that was involved in the start-up of the elder arrangement can rightly attest to the fact that it was pure and utter bullshit that some "holy spirit" was involved. Basically a group of men sitting in a circle saying yea or nay to each ones being ok'd or not to be written on the list to send to the society as those to be appointed as elders. I know none in the group where I was involved was nayed, LOL. That was the recommendation sent to the society so that they could then appoint these men (under the guidance of the holy spirit, cough,cough) purely and utter bunkum inspite of eggnogs ramblings.

Putting aside whether Dawkins is right or not, perhaps it's the fact that he comes across as an smug, arrogant, pompous, condescending little asshole (to me) and is obviously very proud of it that offends (me) and many people.

In other words, in my opinion people just don't like him!

You have to love how stupid they think the followers are. They explain that the memorial ends when Jesus comes, which now coincides with when the last ones of the annointed die and necessitates his arrival to take them home, but then use this to explain why those with an earthly hope or those who live for ever on earth don't partake. If as they say, Jesus's arrival terminates the memorial what would the partaking by these other ones have to do with anything.
