  My mom and JW family never called me when I was an active JW and a MS...so nothing has changed when I became inactive. I'm always the one trying to keep in touch. Their excuse is that they are very busy with the truth but they bitch when they don't hear from me for a long time.

  When the above question is asked it really means will JWs be the only ones saved at Armageddon...but they avoid answering this question. Instead they divert attention to the salvation through resurrection of "unrightous" ones who obviously aren't JW...all good lawyers use this method to avoid answering embarrassing questions.

  i don't miss it a bit.

  i was a slacker when it came to prayer.

  I remember how a Co said that there is something wrong with a marriage when the husband doesn't pray with is wife at bedtime...I felt guilty for not praying out loud before going to sleep especially when my wife expected me to after his comments...the CO said he and his wife would kneel down at the foot of their bed every night and he prayed for her...For me I rarely felt like praying even when I was fully indoctrinated.

  i would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .

  and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..

  Awakened at Gilead AKA Ex Gilead Missionary videos were an eye opener. JW Facts' use of WT publications to expose the false teachings of the JW cult was instrumental. When I started doing research on the Internet I saw apostate sites that fitted perfectly the WT description and it almost turned me away from doing more research. Then I found JW Facts...I also concentrated on verifying how the WT misquoted secular sources to support their claims. All this started while doing research on earthquakes while preparing for a public talk...

  Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT false prophets

  tonight on the service meeting we discussed why jws are not false prophets.

  of the ten minute part two were spent discussing that jws just had wrong expectations and only very minor changes over the years although nothing specific was mentioned.

  the other eight focused on the core bible truths that have remained the same over the years.

  Thanks for all the references. Didn't the Awake masthead say that the 1914 generation wouldn't pass before the end of wickedness arrives...not ours but God's promise...?

  No Natural Affection...

  my latest encounter with my mom has me furious and i needed a place to vent:.

  i don't post alot but for anyone who has read any of my posts knows that while i have been struggling for some time, i am still an active jw working towards leaving.. anyway, i got into a car accident yesterday.

  fortunately i am well enough to type this up so for that i am greatful.

  My old pioneer mom couldn't find time in her busy schedule to see my younger brother (not JW) who wanted to have her see his newborn grand son...You can't come on Tuesday because we have our meeting...I am out in service every morning...Thursday is grocery shopping day...His comment was that he is not about to start going out in service to be able to spend a little time with our mom...Then she complains he doesn't visit or even call her!
