while i was traveling this past month, (25000 miles in five weeks), i flew to las vegas and spent the first week of july there with my favorite, and now only girlfriend.
what a great place!
we stayed at the luxor and hit every casino on the strip, saw shows, toured the hoover dam, rode all the rides, went clubbing every night until at least three am, and slept about ten hours in five days!
Eyebrow2, I also discovered the purely orgasmic joy of the Krispy Kreme in Las Vegas. In fact, the ex and I eschewed the buffet lines to breakfast at KK.
Love the 2 buffets at Rio.

My parents told me I was adopted when I was in 5th grade. It never really bothered me. In fact, I thought I was more special because my parents chose me to be theirs, rather than being the result of one of millions of sperm nailing an egg. I have a poem, that is under a picture of my mom, it was written by an adoptive mother to her child, and it always makes me cry. It is the truth. I don't have it where I am at, but I'll post it soon. If I can get through it without blubbering like a child.
As an adult, I have wondered why. Why did she give me up? I found out about 5 years ago why, and that is for another time. The things I wonder about is how my life would've been different if I hadn't been raised a J-Dub.
Whether or not your friends tell their daughter about the adoption is up to them. If it were up to me, I would tell the child, rather than have the child find out later, and resent the parents. This is not Santa, the Easter bunny, of the tooth fairy. This is reality and self-worth.

I have not read any of LaHaye's books on the End Times. I personally think they are a stretch of good Biblical exegesis.

this is just a vent thread for me....this entire weekend we've been getting ready to move into our new house.
i was alone this afternoon at home and decided to sneak up to my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and read the sunday paper.
i was sitting in a booth and reading the paper.
If you have an ill-mannered child your have ill-mannered parents. The apple doesn;t fall far from the tree.
I despise parents that teach "restaurant manners." My kids are never allowed to talk loudly, reach, etc. They don't do it at home, so there is no shock to them in public.
I took my kids, they were 12 & 9 at the time to Emeril's (Delmonico) in Las Vegas. When we entered the restaurantI could see the looks of dread from the faces of the other patrons, and the wait staff. However, the kids were stellar in their behavior, and I got complemented numerous times for having such well behaved children. They even got free desert from the manager.
This was not the first experience. Even when they were toddlers, and we went to family restaurants, the ex and I would get compliments over the kids.
