My mom also was so proud to be able to loan to a project that she could never get back when she really needed it.
So was my father not long after his reinstatement. Soon he again was an MS. He was approached (without my mother's presence) and asked if he wanted to just cancel the loan and consider it a gift.

my grandmother, an immigrant from austria, was.
two of my aunts, their husbands, both elders, various cousins and two of my sisters are witnesses.
so is my grand uncle.
To my knowledge, none of the JWs she knew has come to visit her, although she had dozens of JWs in her home over the years. To be fair, a majority of the JWs she knew are no longer around now because she is 94 and most of them are dead, but there are a few younger JWs around who should remember her.
It's simple. In the past she gave her time, her assets, her hospitality, and even her love & friendship to them, but now -- she has nothing more to offer to them -- so she has simply been forgotten -- off their radar because their radar only alerts them to what they can GET from her.
i wasn't surprised they didn't go online, i was shocked.

The bumbling fools are constantly in CYA mode. I suspect they could not come to a 2/3 consensus when it was discussed every Wednesday. Fearful of making a wrong decision, they made NO decision and thus they continue to limp along still thinking God will protect them.
i have known a jehovah’s witness for approximately 15 years and i have considered her a friend although i know that jehovah’s witnesses cannot have friends who are not jehovah’s witnesses.
approximately two years ago, i was going through a very difficult time and i asked my friend if we could have bible study.
she said yes and we have been studying the bible since.
Your JW friend is doing what the Governing Body (via their puppets, the elders) to do. Very doubtful she want to cease the study, especially if she is older and it gives here the "warm & fuzzy" to be teaching someone about the Bible (or at least about JW doctrine, which isn't always scriptural).
If she is a pioneer, she will most likely want to keep on with the study as it is "easy hours" to count towards her quota for each month.
