Of course, well-meaning faithful Christians in the past have burned others (heretics) at the stake.
At least today the most they can do is shun you.

6 be sound in mind - the end is close - "of course, well-meaning, faithful christians in the past have sincerely tried to predict when the end would come.".
more than 140 years of a sincere & well-meaning "it's coming soon" from the org, can be swept under the carpet - nothing to see here!.
Of course, well-meaning faithful Christians in the past have burned others (heretics) at the stake.
At least today the most they can do is shun you.
that aged well lol.
since then 4 younger gb members appointed.
they're making decisions on the fly, depending on how the "world" reacts (governments, court cases, etc).
Actually, it's my understanding they have begun to do serious investigations before changing their doctrines, positions, or policy. They have to confirm which way the (political) wind is blowing. . . .

Elders can’t be alone with a ministerial servant under the age of 18.
They really do have a problem within their ranks if this kind of warning is needed.
so trump has signed an executive order to withdraw from the united nations human rights council, a refugee organization, some others parts as well and calls for a review of american involvement in funding of the united nations.
he said the united nations has not been living to its potential and they need to get their act together or just dissolve the organization completely.
he said america will continue to be a part of the un but it's tiring that the united states is the country that funds most of the monies and that can't continue.
Too bad you can't bet on watchtower prophecies I'd be rich betting against them!
Too many of us bet our lives on WT prophecies -- much to out own detriment.
the jws haven't been to my door for a while, but i don't doubt that they'll turn up eventually*.
(i saw easter eggs in the supermarket yesterday, so "memorial" season is fast approaching 🙄).
what's a good question to ask, to get the ball rolling?.
this information is supposed to be in the upcoming march wt.
(i don’t go on jw dot org).
it would sound like they are hinting at a change in thinking.. in my opinion, any such change would be yet another slap in the face to faithful pimis along with those other recent changes.. there are so many heartfelt responses on that thread and a lot of justified anger.. don’t know what to say except that i’m so glad i never listened to the religion all those years ago.
DOC, loss of money is the only thing that moves the WTS to take action, not wanting to support their members, certainly financially. -- Blondie

Nothing will happen.
Most JWs have no idea what you are talking about!

the org do seem to be resetting themselves to appear more likeable to outsiders
the org do seem to be resetting themselves to appear more likeable to political leaders (fixed that for you)
Oh Dear God! It's just that they are in fear of losing their religious tax exempt status!

That "New Light" thing just gets dimmer and dimmer, doesn't it!
Maybe the new GB members will be a little more creative:
the entire internal religious culture of the watchtower organization is harmful for its current members.
the culture seems to traverse ethnic and national barriers.
however, the worst of each culture all around the world appears to have a symbiotic relationship with the religion in an attempt to make the org fanciful in every nation and locality.
Blondie, I'm sure there are still some self-righteous, hard-liners that still go door-to-door (or at least drive around all day between their Starbucks coffee break and their early lunch at McDonalds) and if she is still alive, I'll bet old Sister Dyhard still does her Magazine Route every Saturday.
Good bless her!
Vidiot has it right -- they're just making busy work until Jeehover bails them out very, very soon.
