  I work for a large company. I suppose the CEO could decide to fire a huge percentage of employees tomorrow without regard or understanding of their actual job duties and in the very very short term brag about all the money saved since they no longer have to meet that payroll. But in a few months the wheels are gonna start to fall off.

  Musk cut the staff of Twitter by 80% and it seems to be doing OK.

  Most of us in the US know that when we go into any government office, there is one person that really knows what's going on and does the work, while numerous others (standing around or playing on their phones) are there because of their relationship to some politician who owed them a job. That is IF they even come into the office.

  Do main stream media companies get taxpayer money in the US?

  They are not supposed to. They are supposed to be a free, impartial press. Tax payer funds do help support PBS & NPR. However, DOGE has exposed some payments having been made to at least a couple (highly biased) secular news groups.

  True. But JWs R&F have the loosest lips of any one group when it comes to gossiping. It's absolutely astonishing to me that there has been no reported "sighting" of him by JWs or ex-JWs in two years.

  From what I saw/heard is that everything the WTS/GB said during that time is to do all the CDC and WHO said to do. Stay home, wear mask, take vax shot, etc.

  They didn't want to risk losing any stimulus money from the Gov't nor take the risk of any retribution coming their way from the Gov't. In OTHER countries, that's OK. But not here where they might personally be held accountable.

  I don't care if it's Jerhover or Christendom's God of choice, both are said to be ALL POWERFUL, ALL KNOWING, ALL LOVING, etc. I just do NOT see evidence of that claim!

  God is either NOT ALL POWERFUL or else NOT ALL LOVING (OR BOTH) based on what goes on what we see happening in the World today. Any mortal human who gives a shit AND who has the power/ability to stop the horrendous things taking place in the world, would do so!

  But God lets it all continue. He either doesn't know, or doesn't give a shit, or is impotent about doing anything to stop it.

  In my experience, over 10 years ago the WTS was "taking it serious" on matters of CSA. I think the pendulum has swung the other way and they are reporting anything that in any way might be considered illegal. I know of two families who dealt with this where their "children" of 17 and 22 years of age were said to be "involved" even though it only involved "photos".

  After being told that the elders were consulting with WT Legal, the families were on "pins and needles" as to what kind of shit this could bring upon them from a legal standpoint. Both families were financially well set and went to their own attorneys and were told it was all BS as even the 17 yo was of the age of consent in this State. And in fact, WT Legal said the same. But it proves the Elders have been warned to call Legal if in any doubt. I'm convinced the alpha elder had an ax to grind with one of the families.

  You'll notice that most of the lawsuits you hear about today are from events years ago and would have been beyond the statute of limitations if various US States had not lifted or adjusted the rules on SOL. The WT may snort and blow about NEVER giving up on the "two witness rule", but that is all posturing. They want the lawsuits to stop. Of course, it has more to do with protecting their bank accounts than protecting the kids.
