AAF, Back on page four of this dialogue, I asked you a question and exlained that I had not read everything that was written. You did not answer my question and said that I should read everything that was written. I will do that if necessary. Before doing that I want to ask you a simple yes or no question. Was my question addressed in earlier posts by you?

how many of you have jobs?

AAF, you also failed to answer my question, unless I missed it in this rather voluminou thread. If you indeed, did answer me, please point out the page, so that I can read it. If you have not answered me, would you please do so? If you can't answer me, I will just consider you another, really stupid fundie.

I am bringing this back up before it goes off into oblivian. Buy Bill Bowen's candles or at least get a free brochure, so you can study on the subject.

AAF, I have not read every word of this thread, but I got the general idea and have to ask you a question. Why should God forgive me - for what? He created me didn't he, and he made me imperfect. So there is no reason for me to be forgiven for the imperfections that God gave me in the first place. I should forgive him for giving me these imperfections. AAF, will you address my comments?????????

i am surprised that none of you mentioned Bill Bowen's candles. They are very high quality indeed. Buy some from him.

Jim, this is not related to your request. I have a request. Please e-mail me. I will be in your city in the spring, and I sure would like to see you. I asked Farkel to send you a message in this regard, and I hope you got it.

Lack of response
by donkey in.
it would seem obvious that a low number of responders to a thread is indicative that the thread is of little or no interest to the other posters on the board.

Donkey, I have posted many, many times. Some work and some don't. I have written serious stuff and silly stuff. As I said, some works and some doesn't. I wrote one on Free Will versus Determinism. Search on the word, Determinism. Basicly is was a conversation between me and one other person - a JW guy who was getting a master's in philosophy - very unusual. Only two or three others posted. I didn't really care. I thoroughly enjoyed debating with an egg head JW. It was great fun. Like you, I do not believe in Christianity or any other religion, for that matter. There are several of us here, who are like minded.

I learned a lot of things. I benefited in many ways. Like DanTheMan, I appreciated knowing the Bible as part of our heritage. As others have stated, I am glad that I learned to speak in front of an audiance with relative ease. I also learned to read at an early age and came to value learning. Of course, I took it too far in their eyes, since I went to college and eventually left the religion. I am also glad that I learned how to speak up against authoraty (sp?). Sometimes that did not work in my favor, but often it did. Also, my childhood training gave me discipline. Hey, if you can work part-time and pioneer, you can do just about anything. I worked in a factory, thereafter, and went to college at the same time. Hey, it worked out. Do I have regrets? No, not really. I am now retired and looking back from the early years, it does not look bad at all. For those of you who have left in recent times, let me asure you that time does heal the wounds.

What books are/have been helpful to you?
by kgfreeperson inblondie's citing of the book on emotional blackmail made me think about books i have found helpful in working through "issues" and i wonder what other people have relied on and found especially important.
i first bought "taming your gremlin" when it first came out in the mid-eighties.
it's just been reissued and i'm working my way through it again.

I would have to say COC and Penton's book. After that I would list Christian Science by Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain).
