Struggle,
When you "tell all", are you going to turn in your brothers and admit that you talk to them?
hello, i was reading judical com.
was really suprise to find out how some of jw's feel.
some have, like the single mom, have such a negative experience with them.

there is a thread already started on the subject of the fds elsewhere but i thought we may as well deal with aspect.. do we need a fds?.
what would we miss if we didn't have one?.
what additional new light do we need?.
MDS,
Well, you said a lot, but nothing about Matt. 24:45.
i have been having discussion with my sister (relative), who is an active witness, about writing a letter of disassociation.
the reason being is that i have not attended the meetings in over a year and it's been 4 years since i have went out in the jw ministry.. i going to try to sum this topic up.
my sister think that i should not da myself because i have not done any immoral act in her thinking.

Struggle,
I don't understand: a series of things that happened. I thought one thing happened and that was it.

Struggle,
How do you plan to handle your up coming meeting? What are you going to tell them? I think you will be less nervous and less afraid if you think this through. Rather than ask us for advice, I think you should think it through on your own.

MDS,
Matt. 24:45 is a story to illustrate a point and nothing more. When you start with a false premise, like you did, you end up with faulty conclusions.
heresy of the month (from a website).
don't you hate it when someone you know comes up with some new thing that you have never heard about?
you sit there in apparent ignorance as they pontificate about the proofs and merits of some idea so far beyond common knowledge that it can only be revealed by people of exceptional enlightenment such as they.
Brother Thinker,
Verily, verily, brother thinker you have shown us the light! It is truely a wondrous day in my life. From now on instead of eating a "feast of fat things" me and my household will be eating a feast of thin things.
I do believe there are some other proofs too. Jonah was thin. A whale wouldn't try to swallow a fat guy. Noah and his family were thin, otherwise they would have sunk the Arch. All of the 12 aspostles were thin. After all, bread and wine for your last supper is not exactly gorging yourself. It is all coming together for me!
I do have a "Question from the Reader." You said that this does not mean that we should eat fat people. Then, in the very next sentence you talk about the "tendency we all have to consume what we love." What if we love a fat person?
not often have i regretted being an inactive jw.
today though, i heard a true story i would have loved to use as an "effective introduction" in a talk.
it seems two southern gentlemen were out frog gigging in a very remote area.
Hey Frenchy,
I am glad you put this together for me. I hadn't realized what these people were up to, and did you notice the topic?? "Taking the long view" How scandelous! I'm so glad you"re here shepherding the flock. Otherwise, who knows what would happen!
You proved again the importance of taking quotes from here and there, giving new meaning to them. Where did you learn to do that?? This is a talent to nurture. You allowed me to see the truth at last. Of all the Elders here, you have to be the most Elderly.:):)

Struggle,
Remember what Jesus said, "The rain falls on the just and unjust alike." In other words everyone has problems. It ain't your fault when the car breaks down. Just one of those things.

Sorry Amicus,
I didn't mean to leave you out. I was taking notes and I forgot to put your name next to your quote.
You mentioned the "silly debates" and that they "miss the whole point of what Jesus was trying to teach." The phrase comes back to me "straining at the gnat and swollowing the camel." What Jesus fought against in his day, is what JW's have become in our day.
