You guys are too suspicious
by Mulan ini posted this on the thread from little_red_birdie, but thought perhaps it deserved it's own thread.. to some of the posters on this thread:.
you guys are just too suspicious.
some teens are so grown up, and have good vocabularies, because their parents talk to them, and they learn how to speak.

do you still want to live forever?
by sleepy inimagine that chance was offered to you .is it something you still desire?.
i wonder how desriable it would be to live forever.what problems it would bring.would we want to stay married to the same person, would we get to know everyone on earth?.
how would it effect our attitude toward life , would we get anything done knowing there was no rush?.

Very nice thread. After getting jumped on for responding to a Xmas tree tread I felt like I was going to look somewhere else for support. But since I've received some nice e-mails and met some great people in chat. I would like to believe that this young lady is exactly that. Looking for answers to some basic questions.
Nothing fishy here *S*

I've spent many days on a motorcycle from dirt bikes to touring bikes and just about everything in between. But at this time of the year we plug in the battery saver and dream about spring.

John Phillip Walker Lindh, aka "Abdul Hami...
by Nathan Natas inhis mother says he was "brainwashed," poor delicate child.
his father asks for mercy.. after all, he only volunteered to join the jihad to kill western infidels like his mom and dad.
he thought the events of september 11 were justified.. he wants to be a martyr for allah and enjoy his six dozen houris in paradise.. i'm undecided: should he be charged with treason and subjected to a jury trial, with the prospect of hanging if he's found guilty, or should his american citizenship simply be forever revoked so he can wander the sands of time as a man without a country?.

LB
Oh forget that jury trial,a proper military trial works so well.

Do you think that...
by crochunter insome people that come here regularly, do so to rationalize the fact that they have left the organization?.
that's kind of how i feel.
we talk about false prophecies, etc that the wtbts has done in the past, but if you believe the bible is real, isn't someone right?

croc I feel the main reason I come here now, after being inactive for 3 years, isn't to justify my leaving or to expose the Watchtower. It's just that many of the people here just "get it". They know and understand what I've gone through and vice versa.
I find no interest in discussing doctrine. That has all been worked out in my mind a long time ago.

10 REASONS WHY JWS STAY IN THE TOWER
by Victor_E inreason 1. jws use a cultic language that keeps them in a constant state of social hypnosis.
transformational grammar teaches that our language directly affects our subjective experience.
in working with some former jws i had to confiscate certain words and have them create substitutes for something that was more neutral.

I didn't stay, but I can tell you why my son stays. He has a nagging wife who browbeats him and will continue to beat him until he's had enough. Eventually he'll discover making her happy just isn't worth it.

Ever had a pointless argument?
by mindfield into make a long story short... nah, i'll just tell it the way it is.
about 3-4 years ago, a @#$@ "brother" made a talk at an assembly.
now, what made this talk so peculiar was that he used a quote from matt groening who apparently said "i'm sorry i created the simpsons, cause i see it has a bad influence on my children... this was to show that the "world" is very, very bad.. since i was (and still am) a devoted simpsons fan, i was completely shocked when i heard that "quote".

Well I did seem to fall into an argument with yadrif about what a lousy apostate I am. At least that's what I think I was being told. It was hard to keep up, especially when I didn't care what he had to say *S*
