by Newborn inone of my "so called" closest sister friend in the congregation, said to me when we once had lunch that "if i was a man, i would want to have an affair with you"!!!
i just went numb...what a crazy thing to say.

my kid, and cristmas
by DaCheech ini have been able to tell my kids that since we are jw's we don't do cristmas.. to help the kid, we are giving presents every other week until the seasons over, to make them feel good about themselves.. the other day, she starts humming "jingle bell rock".
i told the kid not to do it, since we jws don't do cristmas.. the response was "the songs not about cristmas, but about jingling and rocking".. what should i do really?.
i'm trying to instill things like: "as jws we dont do this and that".

When I was still in in 86...and single..I was living with an elder, the PO in fact, and his wife...and I had a George Michael tape. On that tape was the song "Last Christmas"...and do you know I was missing Christmas so bad, that I played that damn song over and over again because it was NOT a Christmas Album and it was just "thrown in there" with other songs??
Also...the Messiah was not meant to be a Christmas thing either, but you pretty much dont hear it unless it is Christmas time.
Your poor baby girl. Its such a beautiful time of year. I feel for her and for your dilemma. Dont correct her. Just let her sing. Its only a couple more weeks.

Looking for advice on Christmas Trees
by lrkr inas a complete christmas newbie, i'm looking for advice on the selection, decorating, care for, and disposal of a christmas tree.
i plan on having the first one in my life this year.
i want to buy a real tree (for the scent, and the authenticity of it).

If you haven't its well worth watching. Then you will know that no matter what tree you choose, no matter how you decorate it, no matter if the needles fall off or not...it will always be very special to you. Take pics too!
As for cutting trees down, there are farms for Christmas Trees these days...they are specifically grown for that purpose, like CORN...so people as a rule are not going out and deforesting the planet for them. :)
I have a 7-foot pre-lit with fiber optics...artificial tree that I got at Sams Club. I have had it for many years and it always looks gorgeous. It collapses like an umbrella when Im done and is stored easily.
Also, I like to get wired ribbon, which you can get just about anywhere in any colors you are looking for, and wind it around the tree. It makes it look old fashioned.

My Wife goes back to Meetings after a year....but I just can't stomach it!

Ex-Elders & MS's Outweigh Current Ones

i think there are more former elders and servants than there are current.
if you look in a hall, it's not uncommon to see 5 ex elders just going to the meetings, doing whatever little they can do.
