I am currently a witness in good standing technically. In my heart I am a Christian. There are a lot of things that WBTS teaches that is not scriptural. Girlie I suggest you get out you bible and start studying it WITHOUT any publications. Just read your bible. It will be an eye opener, it was for me.

What are the scriptures that the society uses to teach that only the annointed can partake? I've been trying to explain to my son that we should partake of the emblems. He 17 and (I've done a good job of brainwashing him) I am currently trying to undo what I've done. I told him I would go to the memorial but I would partake at home afterwards. He said he didn't want to partake because he didn't think it was right. HELP I need scriptures to convince him he should.

by WildTurkey inas an active jw, did you really ever believe that you would survive armageddon?
with me, i served as an elder, regular pioneer, was over the book room at district conventions, but i always felt it was not enough, i was never real sure i would survive the big day of god almighty!!
the reason i ask y'all is, i don't think you can feel real sure in a organization that is legalistic and work orientated .

I wasn't to sure. But deep down in my heart, I had doubts that only JW would survive armageddon. I've never been a really bad person and I never led an immoral life so I guess I figured I was doing what I could to the best of my ability and if that wasn't enough I didn't want to make it.

it educates and benefits the great crowd of overcomers, whose steadfast reliance on jehovah and the spiritual food from his organization truly is a cause for rejoicing.. 2. too, suchlike ones manifest their support for god's arrangement by regularly assembling at christian meetings and submissively acknowledging the headship of spirit-appointed elders.

"Homeschooled" Witness kids.

my son is 13; and i am his teacher (homeschooled).
interestingly, the father was only concerned that the kid wasnt paying attention at meetings!.

In the area I live it is common to homeschool your kids. Especially when they reach middle school and High School. Of couse that isn't really in the best interest of the child because most of the jdubs are not the most educated people at least not in this area. Alot of the kids don't finish and end up with not even a high school diploma. Then they are qualified to do the same jobs as their parents, housekeeping etc.

Remember the wall is going up because they think this is what Jehovah wants them to do.

Leadership is missing among the xJWs!
by IslandWoman ini know the word, "organization" has a bad taste.
but it is a fact of life that to get anything done on a grand scale in this world, good leadership and organization are a must.. we lack organization, much of what is said and done is a hit and miss thing except for the u.n. problem.
thanks to those who took a lead and the others who followed their lead some damn good work got done!
