Powerful and Damning Awake quote, and questions to help JWs think....

just thought of another question that could start someone waking up.

you could say something to the effect of, "i was thinking how if we were to come across a person in the ministry who asks us how luke 21:8 does not apply to jws in light of the comments such as the ones (quoted below) how could we respond?".

or you could say that someone at work or school presented you with the awake quote and said luke 21:8 proves jws false, then you could say you need help coming up with a response to him.. luke 21:8 .

I heard the Watchtower is trying to revise all their blunders in books we all studied in the 1960s and 1970s. I know they are trying to keep the Watchtower CD-ROM as tiny as possible in case of further revisions of the Generation and Blood and Faithful Slave after realizing how little anyone took note of their massive changes.

Is anyone keeping track of all the historical revising of books that say "The Work will end in the 20th Century"? and other gems like that?

when brothers and sisters got laid off by cyclical business contractions, did you ever hear the elders preach "if you can't find a good job, join the pioneer list because satan hates when your working for jehovah and will find you a great paying job!".

we had a brother who worked for the defense industry, he worked for a military contractor and left his job after becoming a witness.

a degree in electrical engineering with software development as a team leader.

Using Reverse Psychology, it's the god of "Jehovah's Witnesses" who is offering the "low paying(if they get paid, Elder Meetings entailed many dishonest and corrupt Elders ripping off their help) jobs helping a brother do his janitorial route. The JWs who owned the Janitorial Routes would pay their employees "under the table", a pool cleaner was notorious for paying his employee $9 cash and would send a 1099 claiming the JW Employee was a Independant Contractor, he was the Theocratic Ministry School Elder and knew he was cheating because he has been busted by the IRS for doing the same crazy misclassication of employees.

Satan got this brother a job making $175k and Jehovah get's the JWs jobs with unscrupulous JW Employers who are creative at cheating the Tax Code. I wonder if the Governing Body knows how many crooked Witnesses Contractors there are. JWs enjoyed hiring illegal immigrants in different areas of their business were skilled labor was not needed. Turn this statement around and you find Jehovah is guilty of "low pay", "no benefits", dishonest employers who are trying to make their employees pay all the Social Security tax, the JW Pool Cleaner in the Creep Side Congregation misclassified a new brother and this brother did not want to make waves so he paid the Self-Employment Tax himself, are not JW Employers kind?

When JW Contractors who needed a business continuity would go on Vacation, they would try to be a Weasel and offer the same wages at Pool Cleaning Elder at Creep Side Congregation, under pay the employee or stiff him making him go to the Elders (Employee had to go before the Body of Jehovah's Witness Elders to ask for his wages that were months past due.). To me it seems like Satan offers more benefits and take's better care of his employees than the False God the Witnesses Worship!

I believe in Jesus Christ as my Saviour, I accept God the Father and praise his beautiful name above all names but I can't believe the god JWs worship is anything more than a false deity, a Spaghetti Monster or Tooth Fairy!

Honesty and Free Speech are the biggest lies told by the Jehovah Witness Organization, they don't exist and all your going to get is hammered for being honest.

The Watchtower would have stonned all the Prophets, Nathan would have never made it out of the front door and Samuel, oh how Samuel would have had to call Jehovah to rescue him from their Cunnings Devices!

Are any of you old enough to remember the giant Timber Industry in California, I have vague memories of driving with my parents in the 1970s seeing a logging company along the Sacremento River with logs rolling down the River. Is this a false memory or am I thinking of some place higher on I5? It was near the California-Oregon Border.

Hortensia, did you ever visit Alturas and the Volcanic State Park at Modoc County, I wanted to fish Eagle Lake before I move to the next world, it's a bucket-list item. The water being so low, I wonder if Eagle lake is dry, the land-locked Salmon were having a big enough problem surviving previously, I hope they get lots of rain with this upcoming storm.

Mary, in Santa Barbara, Ca a Desalination Plant was built after the "Great Drought of 1970s" only to have the State Mothball it! Why can't we have water from areas that flood and send it via pipeline? The cost to make America even better, if we spent all the money that was spent on the Gulf Wars, we would have plenty of water for all!

She has no chance of getting justice, Pedophiles are smart and are cunning when it comes to hiding who they are. Woody hired his own dectectives, he hired everyone who could clear his good name, I think Micheal Jackson got slammed in his last lawsuit because it was actually a accusation by somebody who was not a victim. Micheal's desire to remain close with children after paying off his undisclosed lawsuit for allegations should have straightened out anyone who was wrongfully accused of being a Chicken Hawk.

What if Woody and Micheal are just misunderstood, they both are better off in the Kingdom Halls because the Watchtower could produce a local "Gag Order" if Woody and Micheal had donated $$,$$$,$$$$ both could be in productive Elder Custody and still have access to all the Stupid JW Children they pleased because the Organization believes "Cash is King".

Ms. Farrow is still very young and needs more healing, if she was a victim it's going to remain with her for the rest of her life. I hope she is able to get the needed help, but having Woody say she is "Mental" won't help, she need's justice!

What's the Watchtower's View of Dedicating Your Time To Charity? Food-bank, Helping Poor Get Benefits, Big Brother, ect..

do you know of anyone who sucessfully dedicated time to charity without getting bad mouthed by witness elders?

we had a sister in creepside congregation who got a lot of lip when she was working for the food bank for free.

the jehovah's witnesses elders hinted, used the watchtower study to say "jehovah's people are ambassadors to satan's world and know the real solution is god's kingdom".

Field Service, I was young and had my giant book bag going out in Field Service when the Circuit Overseer "Brother Mega-Bomb) (Real name Mega) who was notorious for yelling, rage and picking on JWs he thought did not measure up was in town. Mega was totally anti-Charity because JWs only have the truth and the world needs the Truth, not food and shelter!

I was with my "wife to be" when we noticed after Field Service arrangements four brothers returned after driving behind Brother Mega-Bomb and turned around and drove back in to Creep Side Congregation. All four Elders changed their Field Service clothes in to Golfing Clothes and one of them whisphered "Hey, don't tell Brother Mega-Bomb, Ok?" I said "What about Field Service?" He said "We have 18 Calls starting with Hole number 1", why did I not see the lies thirty years ago, it was so obvious now as I look back.

I feel like the old Looney Toon Cartoon where the character turns in to a "Sucker" after getting conned!

It happened to you too? I was naive and stupid when I heard a new brother moved in to our territory and tried to ask him to attend our Kingdom Hall, I thought there was something wrong with a person who did not want to be in a Spiritual Paradise, I was such a Dork!

We have many "Ex JWs" in our area because it's a Retirement Zone. There are Elders living here who lived at Bethel, lived in New York and had close affiliations with the Governing Body and they are mad was Hell! Why did these former Elders speak of the "hatred", "Evil Plotting", "back-stabbing", "heartless cruelty" and "pathological lying" by the Chief Elders. Indeed I was a Fool who believed the JW Elders were good and the brothers (Former Elders and Elderettes) and Sisters who stopped attending Meetings were being a "Sour Puss" or "Curdled Milk", now I know why they stopped attending the Meetings, it's worse than a War Zone because the wicked things you expected from your enemies often poured out of the mouths of Witnesses who you thought were your friends. People you loaned money to had no problem stealing from you.

JWs are weird, you can let them go years without paying rent, give them a highly subsidizing rent schedule and not expect them to do physical work around the yard as Elder Joe drives by watching his 70 year old Dad do all the work. The daughter and her insane anger of not getting the right candy and harboring hatred because Dad bought me Mint LifeSavers instead of Tropical Fruit (She is 59 years old and still talks about this shit that happened in 1974! How F'cked up are these hypocrites?) yet she has gladly accepted their money and low-rent, they are Takers! The same couple are theives yet they are at the high level of the JW Food Chain.

JWs taught me that they are good at viewing a person from their outward appearace, if you don't pretend to be holy and lie about your field servive hours like many of the Elders I knew, you will be cast off as a misfit!

Gum Chewing....Allowed in your hall or not?

so when i attended, this was never an issue - its been five years since i was booted.

a bit before i woke up, a couple visiting us (middle america) from the deep south basically told me this never, ever was allowed in their hall.

no 'priveleges' for a guy who chewed gum.

When a brand new beautiful Kingdom Hall complex was finished, not long after we had assholes putting gum under the seats of a Pristine Worship Palace, I have no problems with Elders desiring to keep the Kingdom Hall nice and not trash it!

Elders told the Ministerial Servants to ask the parents nicely not to allow the little Moinkers to chew gum, and if they needed to chew it, please take them outside and put it in the trash. Singapore gives a nice ass kicking to people who disrespect the property of others, arrogant people from the West have got themselves some time in Jail or big tickets by spitting gum on the ground. It's a policy I can live with.

Until you have to keep a Putty Knife in your book bag to scrape that crap off the chairs, chewing gum won't seem like a problem. Once you do have to get your hands dirty and find a old tooth inside that gum wrapped underneath the chair, you will agree the "No Cow Cudd Chewing and Spitting" policy is great!
