  the ark pictures the response to one kind.. it means the customs of the people can cause catastrophe.. and most people did not stop the destructive behavior , but some used it to be redeemed.. .

  sodom pictures the other kind.. it means the people respond badly to the intuitive recognition that doom is ahead.. .

  in one case what the people are doing causes something bad.

  Very interesting topic. Let me add a few to the discussion.

  @Ndew: have you ever wondered why man(any) cant see God? even Adam and Eve when they knew so sin were still not capable of seeing him. The problem lies in the flesh. The kind of flesh we have is our limitation in comprehending the magnificence of God, just think about the sun, how close do you think a human can get before being oblerated. So in our mortal state humans are meant to die at a point in time regardless of relationship to sin, our only sustenance was the Tree of life which was in the garden of eden. It was that which could give life(even eternal) and to make whole all infirmities of our human nature. And that tree was/ is Jesus Christ. But Christ fact that Christ has no relationship with devil/ sin is the reason Adam and Eve could not partake of him(The tree) after they sinned.

  There is no way any man can live a perfect life free from sin in our current nature. Sin is built right into our DNA, its built into our thoughts and there is no denying it. Our only freedom from sin is through Christ. And that will come in flesh that is incoruptible, spiritual. Then and only then will we be free, and also be capable of seeing God.

  Now talkin about the sun, who knows if its going to last forever, its only there as long as there is reason for it to be. And when its purpose is achieved its going to pass away just like this current earth is destined to. That is why the JW idea of an earthly(this earth) paradise is delutional. How are we supposed to see God, how are we supposed to have that personal and intimate relationship with him.

  Revelation 21:3(KJV)- And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God

  Its only in the New literal heaven and earth, Not symbolic as the WT$ claim.

  Revelation 21:1(KJV)- And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

  Unless perhaps the WT$ god was to dry the 70% of sea and fill them with stone or something.

  we have brains and can think.. when we talk about god we leave behind material, physical sensible "things".

  it is the voice of intellect not brain.

  the proof is in the pudding.. the voice of god would not be mans voice.. intellect is our vehicle and it is not the atoms of a meat brain, nor vegetables nor poetry.

  i listened to this reading and was amazed about how so little we know about the most famous person who ever lived at this time.

  the link is below, but here are some pointers,,, listen and read with an open mind,,, i know most members are after being duped by organized religion.

  Anybody play videogames here?

  my favorite games are fallout 3- played over 250 hours, black ops- played over 500 hours multiplayer/zombies, gta 4- played around 90 hours, pokemon ruby- played over 30 hours, pokemon firered- played over 30 hours.

  i have modern warfare 3 but its kinda not what i expected, black ops was more fun.

  what do you guys play?

  i take black ops over mw3 anyday, i played lots of Gta iv too, then skyrim. Lets just say i am into a lot of video games.

  Islam and JW

  i was reading few basic believes of the islam and i see similarities between jw doctrines and theirs ie.

  final day judgement when actions will be either punised or blessed in a physical resurrection .... jesus not seen as god (trinity), no celebration of birthdays.

  mmmmm i wonder how much other religions have influenced the jw "biblical" points of view ???

  The existence of God has nothing to do with this, actually. It is on the basis of Logic the Opening paragraph is founded.

  It has everything to do with the existence of God. If i consider some writting to be sacred then i cetainly know it from a higher source. To the simple man the scriptures mean nothing, its seems more like superstition to him.
