How confusing to be a JW child listening to this drivel.
I don't suppose he mentioned that telling the truth is very important but is likely to get you disfellowshipped.

during a recent talk our district overseer made this statement:.
"for some lying becomes habitual, for others its coerced.
very very few individuals are truthful under any circumstances.

my surgery is over and i am home.
the doctor said that she has never seen anybody recover as quickly as i am.
i am sure that all your prayers and well wishes are the reason why i am doing so well.
Good for you, Robyn. Take it easy for a while. Glad your recovery has been smooth!

today we celebrated our first thanksgiving, it was all i ever thought it should be.
the table was loaded with food and everyone excited because the smell of the turkey was all over the place this morning.
my daughter told us last night that she thinks we should tell what we all are grateful for as we sit to eat.
It does me good to hear all of these great stories of people enjoying life. Thanks for sharing.
I spent Thanksgiving with a friend who is moving out of state. After stuffing ourselves, we went to see the new Harry Potter movie. The movie was great! I love Dumbledor's summation at the end, which goes something like, "After all, Harry, it is not so much our abilities as our choices that define us."
Making a choice to enjoy life as much as possible,

I am nauseous.
These are the same people who publish a picture of children who have died at their hands on the cover of a magazine! These are the same people who advocate beating your children and withholding affection, even contact, if your children get on the wrong side of the men in power. As Stephanus pointed out as well, these are the same people who will get as many people as possible to go to court to support, defend, and protect pedophiles!
What a travesty!

I agree with kelpie.
What if she changed? I don't think you would feel any better. You're getting something out of this relationship, or you wouldn't stay in it. It is not only you who is being belittled by this situation. I mean, ask her if she likes being your science project?

well it's thanksgiving today.. yes today is the day families get together and enjoy the company of those we love.. if you are an apostate as we are....this isn't the case.
today our witness families and friends will be getting together and eating a big turkey dinner also....they always do.
are you sad today of the reminder that this religion has broke this relationship?
Hi, gumby. Sorry about your family. My family is physically far away besides being pretty dysfunctional, JW or not.
However, I am having Thanksgiving dinner with a friend. I had two other invitations, one from my roommate who is spending her holiday with her large Peruvian family (she dressed in her Peruvian costume - gorgeous!) and one from a co-worker. If you don't have the kind of people in your life who think of you on these occasions, you will. Things do improve with time.
I hope you make it as good a day as you can.
Happy Thanksgiving,
SandraC
there is christmas music blaring out in every shopping centre now, it started in mid-november.
it works a treat, reminds everyone to get spending.
most of it is rubbish, i feel so sorry for shopworkers having to listen to that for 7 weeks.
"O Holy Night" for sure.
"It came upon a midnight clear" brings tears to my eyes.
"Rockin' around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee - not a carol, but a fun song!
mulan, thankyou for bringing up this subject.
gawd parents of these children feel so very alone and we often are.. i am constantly in a battle with our small town school and we have made some great changes for future situations but it has cost me dearly.
inability to keep the same job due to the constant battles and needs for my son.
Mulan, thanks for the posts on Asperger's Syndrome. I had never heard of it until you posted your first thread about it. I now have a name to go with the mostly apt description of myself as a young person.
My mother recently told me how wonderful my sister was as a child, but that I was "stand-offish." My mother sets a lot of store by looks and personality, and virtually none by character, courage, or persistence. I have learned some social skills through hard experience and serial failure, being forced to look at myself and ask what I'm doing wrong.
When I looked up info on Asperger's Syndrome and was reading the list of traits/characteristics of people with this condition, I saw myself in my old photos, staring blankly at the camera while my sister standing next to me had a bright smile and exuded cuteness. I wonder if there is a hereditary factor with this condition. I had a lot of trauma to deal with in my earliest years of life and thought the etiology of my condition (or whatever it is) might be related to that.
Thanks for the "new light." I think I'll call a therapist now and make an appointment.
Regards,
SandraC
i was raised in the truth since the age of 6 and at the age of 16 i was close to getting baptisted by then i recieved a chance to play college footbal so i fail off, but over the past year i've been striving to finally get dipped and i am at the point in my life were i've been there and seen it all, now i want my future wife to be a dedicated , baptisted servant of jehovah.
so the search is on.
please include age , years of dedication, children or not , & city
Welcome to the forum. It's good to hear that you took a kind of Sabbatical from the org to play football, something you truly enjoyed.
You are not likely to meet a proper young sister on this forum. The gals here are rather "improper" in the sense that most are fun-loving and open. So stick around and join in the fun.

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you gave yourself a Sabbatical from the org to play football.
However, if you're here to find a proper young sister interested in marriage, you're extremely unlikely to find her here. There are lots of "improper" fun-loving gals here, though. So stick around and join in the fun anyway.
