Toward the end I got to the point I couldn't stand to sit through 2 hours of that crap. I'd spend most of the meeting in the back talking to a friend or two. Then I just decided I would make it even easier and just not go at all

Yet another control tactic
by cruzanheart infor the past few years (when i was going to meetings), a wicked little group of us always got a spiral bound notebook every year that contained all of the material for the theocratic ministry school.
it was so much easier than looking everything up and lugging around large books.
every year we heard grumbles from the faithful (who lugged around the large books) that if the society had wanted us to have something like that, they would have provided it.

Same deal w/ the scripture programs years ago - we'd print the scriptures for a WT out on paper so they'd all be on one page. Turns out the 'society' didn't like that either. Same deal, some lame talk about needing to be able to locate scriptures in the bible, and that we needed to be reading them right from the bible - as if the words would be different or more 'special' coming from a WT printed bible. Whatever. I kept doing it anyway - just printed smaller and cut them into bible sized pages

Yea, but as hot as Chad P and the Jets are right now - they might just surprise a few teams in the playoffs.

12-24-02 Book Study - Pot calling the Kettle Black
by eyeslice inthe two "get out of jail cards" that the society plays when explaining away failed predictions are:
god's prophecies are never wrong, its just our interpretation, let's wait a while and when things are clearer we'll tell you in retrospect what the prophecy really was.
we never actually said that, it was the rank and file, they got over excited.

Yep, and you forgot 1940 when good old booze Rutheford predicted the big A 'within a few short months'. I guess that one could still be true - lets see, 12 months to a year, 62 years since then, that makes .... <clickty clack> 744 'short months'. Yep, boozey may have been right on that one!

The Eagles have done a fantastic job this year - don't they have home field if they win their next one? Put on top the fact that McNabb is out, and they still find ways to win - no doubt they are one of the ones to beat. But I think the reason no one's giving them any love this week is because even though they won Sat, they beat a Cowboys team that I could have beat by myself ... the Cowboys couldn't pull their heads out of their @ss long enough to do anything right Sat. Some of their plays look worse than a bad high school team.

That was a close game, and could have easily swung the other direction if that one play had been reviewed. But like you said, a win's a win. Go Steelers!!!!
Oh, and how about those Raiders? <grins and ducks>

The JETS suck. They are like 8-6 or something horrible. The Bengals could beat them.
Maybe the Bungles could - they did beat the Saints (or is that the 'aints' now?) - but the Pats couldn't handle 'em! I guess after McNair and co. spanked Brady he just can't seem to get back in the groove. And I think Chad P did a great job last night. Not a Jets fan, but more so not a Pats fan. Glad to see 3 things fall into place this weekend - Packs win again (but a tough game they could have easily lost!), the Pats go down in flames again, and the fishy dudes lose to the purple people eaters - yea!!!!
