Reminds me of Jim Bakker's damage control attemps before his great FALL in 1987.
The Charlotte Observer Newspaper was Jim Bakker's "Dateline" in those years. They were digging up the "dirt" on Jim and he was denying it as fast as the Observer printed it. Guess who was telling the truth!?!
we have neighbours who have been very sincere "born again" christians, for about ten years.
i know that quite a number of you on this forum are also born again, but my question is, just what do you believe?, i understand that you don't have any particular denomination and appear to join any church service as you wish.
when i used to go out on "field service", i seemed to get different understandings of the scriptures, from born again christians, some seemed to be of the opinion that they would be taken up into heaven and armageddon would wipe the earth clean and then they would be put back on the earth, others seemed to think that they would go to heaven and stay there ?
You may also want type in the following into a search engine:
"Baptist"
"Assemblies of God"
"Christian Missionary Allience"
That will give you a start. Go to some of the individual churches listed and click on a link that says something to the effect "What do we believe". Most church home pages will include this.
This site would make an excelent study form to print out. The artiles are short enough and will allow you to stick to one subject at a time. Look up all references in her WT mags and bound volumes. If you don't have the WT articles - check out Shaun's site for photo docs.
note to simon: i will use some expletives, but i hope that they will be retained as this is intended to be an otherwise civil and thoughtful post to all my fellow ex-jws.
You'll be just fine once the surgery is done. The first 2 to 3 days after are not very pleasant, but from there on, it will be smooth sailing. You will be "Amazed" at how fast you will heal. Take care, my friend.
Welcome to the board, Eric. I'm someone who lurks more than I post, but I'm always glad to see new ones join in the discussions here at JWD. I'll be looking forward to reading your "story" when you feel comfortable sharing it with us.
