the question, "why are you here?
" is simple enough, and your answer may be straightforward.
however, when i asked that of myself, i find that my answer is pretty complicated.
Hi larc,
Why am I here?
I'm here to read and learn from inteligent posters such as yourself.
I'm here to associate with people that I have a common interest with even
if it is via the computer.
I'm here to see how the WTBTS has affected peoples lives.
And I'm also here to hopefully help others learn the truth about the WTS.

when i began to study with jws, i deluded myself into believing i was pursuing truth, when i was pursuing a closer relationship with my dad.
i suppose keeping him happy by joining his new club didn't seem cool to me as a teenager, when i was meant to be rebelling from his authority.
but having had so little to share with him emotionally, or intellectually for most of my upbringing, this seemed too good an opportunity to pass up.
Hi philo,
Interesting points.
I'm sure there are many that became JWs to make parents happy.
I wonder how many became JWs because the study conductors were such good salespeople?
When we were going door to door, was it really to tell people of God or was it to sell the
orginization to people?
I remember hearing at the meetings that the most important thing was to get the prospective
converts to the meetings. That that's where they will learn the most.
Anyone ever notice that once the convert gets baptised the study conductor drops them
like a hot potato? It's because they did their job.
They sold the org. to the person and now they're on to selling to someone else.
Alternitive,
Do you really feel that we are all mad here?
If this website is mainly for unsteady people, why are you here?

I'm sure most of us,when we first decided to become JWs,
thought that they were the nicest people in the world.
That they had the right understanding of God.
But it wasn't until we became informed that we realized
it is all a facade.
I'm sure there are many cults that can be spoken of
the same way. They are such good people.
Certainly,God must look on them with favor.
But it's not until we look behind the curtain do we see
how things realy are.
Kent, you can ask the person that sent you the email this question.
What are the positive things the JWs are doing?
Besides them knocking on doors trying to get new members to join,
what is it that they are doing that is good?

here's your chance to complement a poster whose posts make you think, make you mad, make you laugh, make you cry.
i usually find something that i dig in everybody's post around these parts.
but i'll single out some peeps in particular.
All right.
If you guys keep trying to be nice and keep
complimenting each other,I'm going to have to tell the elders
on you all.
They'll straighten you out! They will reajust your thinking on matters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST KIDDING.
There are too many here to list that I enjoy reading.
So I will just say thanks to ya'all.

it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
thanks.
Oh allright. I'll admit it.
I was suckered in at the door.
They had (so I thought) the answers to the questions that I
had at the time.
Of course as time went on, there were new questions but NO
answers.
C'mon now. There must be others that were taken in from the
door to door work.
Who will admit it?

as you scroll the page, there are many great and to the point questions that are asked of the reader if and when they become or are perhaps considering becoming a member.. and more on freemasons/ illuminati (for those who have requested more pages on this topic):.
Hi sf,
Interesting links.
You seem to have a strong interest in the
Freemasons/Illuminati subject.
Do you believe that these things are real?
