great thread snare&racket. Its true what you observe, more concerned with what's happening among the group than what the group are taught to believe. JW's dont know what it is that they are supposed to believe. only that 'it' is the truth. how many really know what 'it' is? do they really preach&teach instead of just placing mags or posting campaign tracts that they never plan on going back to follow up. They are just happy to carry on like this all there lives completely ignorant to the deception that they are 'in' the troof. Such a waste to what are mainly very nice genuine caring members of society.

What was the recent change made regarding baptisms?

just saw a post by splash on the commision transcript thread: (pasted below).

we had a talk at our hall recently, basically saying that there have been lots of letters written to the uk branch, questioning and complaining about a new change introduced for the baptisms at the sad and ca.. the talk did not try to reason, it did not try to explain.. the talk was "do as you are told, don't question what you are told".. we were told to do as the song instructs us "listen, obey and be blessed".. we were told that this change was from jehovah so keep up with his chariot.. i think this talk was given in quite a few locations around the country.. what was that all about please?.

the change for the UK at circuit assemblies is the baptism is no longer done as part the morning sessions. after the song the chairman concludes the morning session and reminds the audience to be back in their seats by ___pm to usual stunned silence as now the dunking happens while everyone has lunch. lots of jdubs are saying it takes away the dignity of the occasion, because for forever in the UK it has been quietly observed and applause for each one dunked. I believe this change has been the norm across the pond for a long time.

as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

so i've heard lots of talk from within about the 'new light' in this watchtower...i'm yet to look at it in any detail.

i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?

" or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!

which begs the question, what mandate do the GB/FDS have to act as the 'owner' / 'master' of their fellow slaves? it seems to me to be going over and above the masters' original request, which was to FEED, No more authority was given to do anything else.

@Splash, almost, 1914 stays, but the link between 1914-1918 3½yrs = Jesus 3½yrs inspection and "cleansing of the temple" followed by the appointment of the FDS over all the masters earthly kingdom possesions has now done been away with. Instead Jesus inspected & chose in 1919 ONLY. But he did not make any appointment over his belongings, but only to supply food at the proper time to the domectics which now include those who are not Annointed.
