Former Hardcore Elder Now In and Out of Psych Ward (long)

it came as a surprise at first, but upon further reflection, it really isnt that surprising.
let me give you some background.. my childhood up through elementary school was played out in the 80s.

Just another example of how the WTS chews you up and swallows you and then spits you out.
It is a rotten shame that so many good persons in the witnesses have either become statistics having committed suicide or have murdered their families or someone else because their mental health has become so fragile some have literaly snapped. The pressure heaped upon any JW is unrealistic. The pressure of shunning ones own family is sometimes unbearable for families to except. Even day to day pressures are enough to cause some witnesses to have anxiety attacks . Some of them and I know a few who sit at their television and listen to the world news to see what is going on work themselves into a frenzy thinking that the great tribulation is almost here. They are paranoid.
It is so sad to see what has happened to many witness families, their lives have been put on hold waiting and waiting and waiting and for what?Just look at the 1975 fiassco. Need I say more??
I know of several hard core elders and they showed themselves to be some sort of invincible powerful hungry men and now these several men are shells of what they once were. Bitter resentful. they have been deleted as elders or MS for crimes and have shamed themselves, their families and most of all God.
I recall the hype over the 38 years that I was a witness and it is the same things that they are telling the witnesses to day. But I believe that several things have been made easier for the witnesses in this day and age. Meetings are not as long. Service requirements have changed. Since the days of eight day conventions which went from morning to late in the evening JW of today who are newer have no idea how stringent life was as a JW. But in those years JWs seemed happier but today it doesn't appear to be the case there seems to be more of the attitude , Oh must I go to the meeting or must I go in the service, or must I pray every day. If only newer witnesses knew what hidden secrets in the closets of the WTS I think many would not even venture into this organization.
One elder in Quebec was a witness most of his life and raised high in the ranks in the organization to that of District Overseer. He turned to alcohol and he started teaching his own ways rather than the ways of the WT ways. He had spent years in and out of prision for being a witness but in the end all those years meant nothing to the WTS, they disfellowshiped this person and made him a shell of what he once was like. The WTS will have much to answer for like all the religions of this world, they are no different from other religions. Yes you have skeletons in your closets and remember those who live in glass watchtowers shouldn't throw stones.
They are as stained as much as other world church and in point of fact I strongly believe that the judgement metted out by God will be greater for the WTS because they have shamed God by lying, cheating, being responsible for the death of so many people, their association with the UN and their own filthy laundry they hid about pedophiles. That in itself is so evil and unforgiveable as far as I am concerned and the lives of innocent children who today are literally suffering from some forms of mental illness. Their shame is greater than any other church because the WTS tried to cover it up. And you told persons not to say a word but to leave it God's hands, who are you kidding, God is disgusted with this. Don't pass the buck to God, it is your own sins that have become manifest and you have no where to hide. Your own fornication with the UN is just an example of how you view sins.
Hardcore elders many of which are a mess and the fault lies directly with the Governing Body, these very men who they claim are appointed by God's holy spirit, well if God's Holy spirit gives you your so called direction then why didn't you the GB know this and stop or bring into light what was happening in so many congregations the world over.
Your shame will be that Christ will bring His shame on you.

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!
I was baptized almost four years ago and was confirmed this past January and I will begin studying for the priesthood within the year.
I am extremely excited.
Today I handed out the Church Newsletter known as the LINK. If anyone wishes to see it at our website please feel free to check it out.
at. www.stpaulsnewmarket.org it is in PDF format. We also made available to the Parish hard copies of the Newsletter as some in the parish haven't got computers.

my mother-in-law is a jw (not a fanatic).
she goes to the meetings every now and then; she occasionally goes out preaching.

If that was the case then I want to have my disfellowshipping recinded. In fact I wrote a letter to the governing body telling them in plain english that if they fornicated with the UN for 10 years and I only did one act and was sorry only unto God then why shouldn't they allow me back in the organization just so I can see my sisters.
That letter is somewhere in my archives.
If someone wants to look it up and post it I don't mind in the least.

As I was reading this post I was slightly concerned about how many of you seem to mock God. Please don't take this wrong, I am not holier than thou attitude, but my concern is with the way several seem to joke about God.
I haven't got the right to judge any one, but I don't believe how the witnesses interpret God. They paint God as a God of vengence and a God who doesn't care. They have made themselves look like fanatics because of the way they constantly speak of God's name. They can overdue it. But I say it is a dangerous thing to joke about God. That of course as I said is my opinion and I hope that none of you take offense to that.

It Seems More Witnesses are Exiting Since 1995 - From Your Responses

i received about 41 responses from different people on the board and the years they exited the witnesses.
i went back and analyzed the dates you gave me and it was apparent from your replies that 25 of you left between 1998 and 2009 a period of about the last 10 years.

I left the organization in 1999 in the month of December, but in my heart I left many many long years before that in the early 80ties. I hardly went to meetings or in the service. I attended the memorial and assemblies and some meetings to make it look good but my heart was far removed. I think my parents knew how unhappy I was as a JW when I returned from Quebec. That is when things started on a downward spiral. I had to bide my time though, as I had my father who was always trying to find ways to have me disfellowshipped. What a great dad.
I had a mom who hardly ever spoke to me except to preach and lecture me that my spirituality was terrible and she feared I would die at the end. She worked herself into an angry spiteful attack on me two weeks before I left. My dad died in 95 and I wanted to make sure my mom could survive with out me. Anyway I have three other sisters, so I felt they could take care of her. My mom is sometimes just impossible to deal with and my sister and her are always locking horns and I am sure happy I have nothing to do with that.
It seems to me that had I the courage in the 80's that I had in the 90's I would have been free many long years ago. But then I may never have found true love.

according to a documentary I watched the other day, the Global Warming Swindle. It was regarding the lies that the industury tells us that we are causing global warning by using products that have harmful chemicals that have caused the ozone layer to get worse. Well that is not so. In fact in this documentary it said that even thousands of years ago the earth experience increase levels of carbons and warming of the atmosphere and back then they didn't have the chemicals we have today.
There were times in history where we had mini ice ages and mini tropical conditions. And the same is now happening again. the global warming trend is not as dangerous as we are lead to believe. The earths temp. are not as great as they claim. the earths temp has only gone up a fraction of what we are lead to believe.
Yes our enviroment is suffering but we have time to repair it. We need to work together in providing the steps to protect this planet. One way is by using products that are organic, and allow nature to work at repairin itself naturally. Like don't rake up leaves let them rot all winter under the snow as they provide the grass over winter the nutrients it needs to grow back heathly in the spring. Composting. Reuse . recycle. The more we inculcate this into our minds and the minds of our children our planet will be safe for generations to come. Scientists believe we can elimante much of the earths waste by the recycling and reusing method. They also firmly believe we are able to keep our home for ever. They say climatic changes will occour but to what extent they are not sure. We could have a small ice age or a small tropical age.
We are the earths keepers it is eventually up to us.
