  i'm interested in developing a list of things jws are allowed to do that have "pagan" or otherwise "evil" origins in the eyes of the wts.

  what types of things are you aware of?

  so far i've got...... red lip stick (allegedly invented to distinguish prostitutes from non-prostitutes).

  Were you accused of starting your own RELIGION?

  mouthy said that she was accused of this ... and i remembered that i too was accused of starting my own church.

  supposedly, i went up and down the west coast, gathering up followers, and then secured a church building in the seattle area.

  the book, crisis of conscience, mentioned that allegations were made against some bethelites who supposedly secured a meeting location, and started a religion known as 'sons of freedom' or 'sons of liberty.

  I know Ray Franz was accused of all kinds of things including starting his own religion. Of course, none of it was true!

  Do 'Cult Deprogramers' Work?

  there have been individuals who hire so called 'cult deprogramers' to get a loved one out of a cult.

  they sometimes kidnap them and try to get them out of whatever cult they might be in.

  does this ever work, and would it have worked on you as a jw?.

  Or does each one have to see it in his own time, heart and mind before he/she begins to think?

  I think they have grown in numbers when things were the worst. So as the growth numbers stagnate they might be trying it again! Poor suckers who are 'used' by the Society to accomplish their aims!

  the thread on the wt$ and the illuminati got me to think, and since i have to write a term paper in my sociology class i thought why not research some conspiracy theories.

  please help be listing some of your favorite ones.

  i only ask that you not tell me about 9/11, or the kennedy clan assassinations.

  we were trying to figure out which religion is suited for us and he found this site.

  it is interesting that the description an jw's say that it is unusual that when people leave them....there is alot of resentment, unlike other religions.. i think it is due to the brainwashing....when you have believed something blindly, then discover you were decieved...it is worse than if you are a part of a religion where you can believe all they teach...or not.

  Non-denominational churches do not have the 'checks and balances' in their teachings that denominations have, but you have to go where you feel love and are comfortable. I'm not saying that a non cannot be a good church, but be aware of the difference.
