after much prayerful consideration, responsible representatives of the "faithful and discreet slave" class have decided to reduce the number of times that the name jesus appears in the main text of the new world translation of the holy scriptures (greek scriptures) from 919 to 79.. the reason for this change is one of the same reasons recently given for the new songbook.
as you may recall, the songbook "sing praises to jehovah" had about half of the songs with jesus as the theme.
in the new songbook, "sing to jehovah", we felt it appropriate for jehovah to be exalted more than jesus so the songbook reflects that balanced view by having 2/3 of the songs praising jehovah and 1/3 to jesus.. the translation committee for the new world translation of the holy scriptures found it appropriate to restore the divine name "jehovah" 237 times in the main text of the christian greek scriptures, this is very disproportionate from the number of times the name "jesus"occurs, which is 919 times in the main text.

"We are also giving consideration to removing the word "one" from 1 Tim 2v5 where Paul evidently forgets to say that in fact there are two mediators, as the Governing Body are the Mediator acting for those living in this time of the end, wheras Jesus has finished his job". (0r put another way Jesus is redundant)

I think it is a shock to many of us how fast the years of indoctrination lose there effect, and soon the free thinking takes us down the path that leads to non belief of some sort.
This starts as non belief in the WT/JW religion, some do not get much beyond that, though they are free to keep asking questions of themselves and their beliefs, they stop for some reason, probably a fear of not having that crutch of belief to lean on.
Others continue with breakneck speed, ask Cantleave on here how quick it was from practising and believing Elder JW to him being a non believer, a house of cards falls slower than that guy moved !

according to the watchtower's interpretation of the bible, we live in a time of unprecedented importance.
the current system is likely to end in our lifetime, and as the end draws closer the need to for the world to accept the bible becomes more urgent.. we are also in a unique time in that billions of people have the risk of eternal destruction upon death.
as i understand it, the billions who have and will die before armageddon will get an 'auto-resurrection' after armageddon (save a few in god's bad books) but those who die at armageddon are gone forever.

I think you need to do a lot more reading and thinking Msgrowing, read LWT's first post above properly for a start.
Then read old threads on here, use the search button, and you will soon see that the prophecies attributed to Jesus, the Gospels, and the Book of Revelation and much more are not to be taken as the WT presented them.
We are not living in the Time of the End, we are living in what we call the 21st Century, which is high time we stopped reading into the work of goat herders 2000 years ago or more , some sort of message for us.
It is high time too we stopped believing in anything for which there is no proof, a realist, naturalist view of the universe is a much better way to look at things.
