Why is it that I look upon someone who would wear that as a self righteous corporate brown noser? Many of the people I work with would never be caught dead wearing a company logo after working hours because it's just that stupid!

by RubaDub ini was walking into a local food store at noon on saturday and i see someone wearing a tie coming into the store.
it was a brother who i have seen before (in a nearly congregation) wearing a very nice shirt and tie.
it had the jw.org logo embroidered on the pocket.

So only 37% retention rate. Now I know from experience that many who still identify themselves as dubs are totally inactive but still mentally in. So what's the real percentage of those that are still in and active?
It's also interesting to note that the wits make up only .7% of those that identify as christian. A truly marginalized cult.

The solution to this problem is to purchase an over-priced bottle of wine from your cruise sommelier. Then find the closest hot tub and let the warm water and bubbles melt away this intrusion upon your, no-doubt, lovely time.

My observation is that these are not older people. Flash forward 30 years or so and see if you're happy or even able to do menial labor. I suspect not. But I forgot that the new system will be here by then and you won't have to worry about your future.
For those of us who've been around a while this is the core of disillusionment with false teachings.

I'm into the 7th year of a successful fade. When I'm at the market I still see some of my former "friends" trying to avoid eye contact. Although I'm not DF'd I may as well be in their eyes. That's okay with me, I've moved on from that. And I really don't want to talk to them either.
What is hard is dealing with extended family. We live on opposite sides of the country so we don't see each other often, maybe every couple of years. My mother-in-law knows we are inactive and has tried to guilt my wife into going back. Thankfully, DW is never going back.
So we're thinking of paying mom-in-law and sisters and brothers a visit and the funny thing is that none of us (wife, daughter and son) really want to go. Its cringeworthy to hear the "spiritual" talk. To be asked what's "wrong," after all something must be "wrong" if we're inactive. And maybe the hardest part is spending the money and making the effort to travel when its pretty obvious that there is no longer any real connection there.
I am labeling this phenomenon Reverse Disfellowshipping. This occurs when it's so uncomfortable to be with friends or family that you ( the inactive or DF'd person) deliberately try to avoid any contact with them.
Thanks again WT for yet another emotionally crippling side effect of your toxic religion.
