then we get to have visitors!..my lovely jw mother in law .and her jw daughter and jw son in law from ny are coming to visit for the second time this week!
((golden girl)) - at least the one visit went half-way decent - but if m-i-law gets testy - just tell her you will not tolerate being abused in your home - regardless of the situation.
Is there anyone that can be with you during this woman's visit? There is strength in numbers - perhaps one of the grandkids can keep that woman at bay!

a poster on another message board (a religious debate board, not jw-specific) mentioned that just before xmas, her husband was accosted outside their home by jws who managed to place literature with him.
instead of mentioning this to his wife, he simply placed the literature in her xmas stocking!
Too bad though - the JW's could get the hint & around Xmas time have them place the literature as touting them as wonderful stocking stuffers!!!

in florida recently the salvation army gave back a gift of $100,000.00 because it was donated by a $16,000,000 florida lotto winner.. they stated that the money came from gambling and they did not want to be associated with it?.
how narrow is that?
Being a religious organization, they cannot accept donations from things considered a "sin" - so at least they are keeping with their religious doctrines (wonder how JW's feel about that? gasp - the horror).
But, it is "narrow minded" - I would agree. Perhaps the person should make his donation through a 3rd party or in smaller increments. That way - they won't be forced to standing up to "moral" principles.
to give you a little background info before i delve into my story.
my step-dad and mom recently seperated, about a month ago now.
my dad is taking this real hard because he really does love her and my mom seems to have gone off the deep end.

last friday, i had the pleasure of meeting animal!

after 16 beautiful days off with my children, sleeping in late, actually making family breakfest and all the other wonderfully "mommy" things to do without rushing - i'm back at work (bluck!!!!
) and the kids are back to school so the rushing begins again.
regardless of how people feel about christmas, i find that 2 week period of time my highlight of the entire year.
Tres - know what ya mean - its AWFUL when we have to convert back to "think mode"!
Scoot/Ang/Imanalien - I can see your point in that - my sons were starting to get a little "edgy" yesterday too - but I wish I could've stayed until they got entirely fed-up!
Witchchild - I've heard of many that have tried home schooling - it does take alot of effort but from what I understand, as long as you keep them "socially" balanced w/extra-curricular activities - it really is great for them. If you decide to do that - keep us posted - I'm interested myself!
Granny Linda: What I wouldn't do for a wonderful "nana" such as yourself close to me. I can't wait till I have grand kids too, cuz I plan on doing the same thing (although my son may have different ideas).
Nina- sounds like such an enjoyable day! lol - which one got tuckered out first - the basset hound or the 6 year old (after the mommy of course - who could keep up with that)?!!! I bet they both gave each other a run for the money. Our weather was COLD (Michigan) but we were fortunate enough to get 5" of snow the night before Xmas - so that gave us some wonderful sledding opportunities.
Ruby - I know you got like at least 10 admirers on this board!!!! So many wonderfully gorgeous men, so little time. Congratulations on that raise and vacation too!

Regardless of how people feel about Christmas, I find that 2 week period of time my highlight of the entire year. Although busy - the busy is concentrated around "loved ones" and the bonding that comes with that is so precious to me.
So, its off to another year and I'm sure it will be great - but today SUCKS!!!!! :)
