a simple question.. does being a jehovah's witness drive people insane or are insane people attracted to being a jehovah's witness?.
drooling hugs.

i'm sure you remember the statement in the wt that goes something like - the organization of jws is the only channel of communication that god is using...words to that effect.. would any of you who have the exact quote and its citation please email it to me when you can?
i would very much appreciate your help.. francois
gsark, excellent new pic. Don't say you were at a bullfight for that!

have you wondered why god allowed the watchtower organisation to start in the first place?.
is it really god's organisation, that's just got corrupted?.
was it ever god's organisation?.
Ozzie,
How bout this? God created the Watchtower to magnify the faults of Christianity in general.
Of course, I don't believe this, I'm just trying to br smart. LOL

Ahh yes, got my very own Seven of Nine now.
i heard it until i was sick of it, this constant litany about refraining from this or that behavior, or activity, or opinion because it might, it just might, stumble someone.. well, damnit, how many people were stumbled right out of the wtb&ts just because of their behaviors?.
how 'bout those of us who were stumbled out because of a low tolerance for hypocrisy?.
or because of a low tolerance for lying?.
Yes, to stumble a brother in the congregation is frowned upon, but if you're an elder it is viewed as an unpleasant but necessary skill. Higher up in the organisation the skill becomes more virtuous until, for a president, it demonstrates nothing less than spirit direction; that fools history will say he benefitted the organisation because, "like all true servants...he was too enthusiasic for Jehovah's Day of Judgment"

as jw's, we often hear the scripture about being no part of the world, you know the on where jesus says" i am no part of the world, just as you are no part of the world".
.
i am curious as to what you're thoughts are on this idea, as a jw, you are always taught that you are automatically part of "the world" if you are not a jw.
This verse of scripture is frequently cited by the WT, in calling for: political neutrality, non-materialism, religious seperatness, low education levels. Since it is so widely used, it doesn't amount to anything more than obedience rhetoric, a slogan.
When you examine the WTBTS's corporate activities, you see just how profoundly meaningless this slogan has become; barring one or two cosmetics, every way you look at the WTBTS, it IS 'part of the world' to the fullest degree. It's one of the first big contradictions I noticed as a dub.

peace and love to everyone,.
the purpose of this post is not..let me repeat not to start a flame war, so as my mother use to tell me, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
ok so it doesn't have to be nice but please try and keep it civil.
I think a useful starting point in talking about human homosexuality is this:
"I am a human, I count nothing human foreign to me." Terence 190-159 BC
So many arguments seem be grounded in so called 'gut feelings' and other prejudices.

being a long time, jethro tull fan..... a certain song has brought deep and painfull feelings to the fore.. though i have stopped listening to the song, at the request of a dear friend who saw how meaningfull the words were, in my fragile state the words are now available for you..... grab a tissue.... .
when i was young and they packed me off to school.
and taught me how not to play the game,.
Zev, yes please!

a long while ago i ran across a website that had a list of things jws cannot do.
as you can imagine it was a very long list.. if anyone knows the address of this site i'd love to have it.. if not, then perhaps we can start our own list right here.... thinker
Dub brothers can't turn their backs to homosexuals unless they are Bethelites, when they have no choice. Think...was I a little harsh there?

Sheesh, that really hurts. But I can't hear the music, come to think about it, I can't recall any Jethro Tull.
