as to the videos being used in the "new world" , if my memory serves ( and it may not ) one of the things that the resurrected needed taught was what this world was like in the end time. I think my memory is partly correct because I do have vague recollection of thinking of the scripture that says the former things won't be brought to mind, which is in conflict with showing videos of this world ( IMO ). The whole concept is stupid on the part of JWs not to see there is something wrong with that picture. But they really can't talk about it or question that which is presented as God's direction to the slave. ( and I think, I am so glad I am out of it. )

how do you feel about the use of the name Jehovah now?
by enoughisenough infor those who still believe in god and the bible, how do you feel/think about the name jehovah now?
i am one who never wanted to bring reproach on god's name.
i will admit using the word jehovah now makes me feel rather icky...like i am promoting a lie of sorts.

I will admit using the word Jehovah now makes me feel rather icky...like I am promoting a lie of sorts. We know that isn't the real pronouciation. The word Jehovah, used mostly in association with JWs has become besmeared, leaving a bad taste in my mouth so to speak, what with their CSA and stealing KHs and shady business practices. I have also seen videos about esoteric cults using the name in reference to the devil rather than almighty God. Maybe some of you know more about that subject. I am interested in other's thoughts on the matter. Right now for the most part I am saying our Heavenly Father. but if you are speaking to a JW or ex JW, then they expect you to use the name. It just seems false to me now....( not sure I have explained my sentiment well)

Ten reasons Jehovah’s Witnesses have the true religion (plus a bonus one)
by slimboyfat inthinking back when i was a true believer these are probably the top ten reasons why i believed jws are the true religion.
1. they show love among themselves by not going to war.
not killing your fellow believers in any circumstances, including war, would seem to be a very basic requirement for true christianity.

I will put in reasoning I didn't see for thinking JW had the truth. They didn't celebrate what we know are pagan holidays. Instead of teaching a person goes to heaven or fiery hell when they die, they teach what the Bible says about the condition of the dead. Some of your have mentioned the JW and being persecute by Nazi and this is true;but from what I have gathered ( info can be found on JW facts -letter to Hitler ) at first they wrote and said they held the same values as Hitler, but once they didn't get the desired outcome, they "punched the bear" and therefore brought on a lot of persecution. ( But the JW r/f aren't taught that! )
I do think there is some truth in the teachings of JW, but it is so with other religions. They are still part of Bablyon the Great and we are told to get out.
Then there is this thought that I recently come to realize -saw it in a youtube comment: 2 Tim 3 :5 having a form of godliness, but denying it's power. Have nothing to do with them. ( I used to think this just about individuals, but I think it fits the religions as a whole.) This about all the hidden CSA in religions...that is certainly denying godliness. Not to mention other corruptions church members get involved with.

( maybe someone else has seen something ) Anyway, when you think of all of the JWs that have been effected by this storm, wouldn't you think there would be some sort of acknowledgement and encouragement from the org. Any PIMO elder here know what if anything is on their agenda. ( can't help but think they are counting their chickens with their relief/collect insurance scam....money, money, money! A question has come to my mind whether the Gov gives money to religious organizations to assist with disasters. Answer? I would bet the org makes application for reimbursements. Putting this under beliefs, doctrine and practices because I don't see a better heading. Here is what i have been thinking for years now and the situation with the recent storms and the devastation brings in closer to home in my thinking. I lived in Western NC for 20 years and moved to WV in Feb of this year. I have been glued to my computer watching the horrendous damage the storm has done. Western NC isn't to be traveled in right because of the conditions of the roads. Millions without power. Some people are stranded....Whole communities destroyed. So what does this have to do with the stupidity of JW r/f? We have all heard the stories of some who would say how they were going to live in this or that nice home after the GT and battle of A. Well, that is just stupid reasoning, When you see the damage a cat 4 hurricane does, do they really think the homes and intrastructure will be left to salvage? But the stupidity gets worse. They buy into the Ramapo construction. They send their donations and some provide free labor to build this "movie studio" because by some miracle it is going to survive Armageddon, AND the videos will be used to educate the resurrected ones. ( oh, and at the same time, this is the last of the last of the last day, so they set out to build a complex that will cost millions and take years.) Where are the heads of the r/f JW? They don't seem to see the oxymoron of this whole thing. Now, if Jesus has power to resurrect the dead, does he really need JW videos to educate them? The JW org plays out that he does and I guess some buy into it. I never did. It makes no sense at all. ( I do have a thought about what/why the studio is being built, but some would think me a crazy conspiracy theorist (( some already do )) NOTE: for those who complain about the lack of paragraph form...I can't seem to do it on this device. I made the endeavor, so take it or leave it.

Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.

I was 16 when I was baptized in a horse trough at an assembly held in a national guard armory... I always wondered why it was ok to have the assembly in such a building ...felt like it supported military. .I woke up after 50 years and I dissassociated. I am 69 Their lies about the jabs is what was proof for me that it wasn't just human mistakes that I had used to excuse their ever changing stories. I recently saw a quote to this effect: truth that changes isn't truth; it is opinion.

entertaining and spot on video ...must have been written by one time elders who knew the process.
by enoughisenough inthey are naming it differently now, but we know the leopard isn't changing it's spots.
so this video presents judicial meetings like they are the mob and the background music fit nicely with the narrative.

unbaptized boy having priority over women
by enoughisenough ini was thinking about the male children ( even unbaptized ) being placed ahead of the sisters.
; and i thought the jw were raising a bunch of misogynist.
would these kids not feel more important than their mothers let alone other women.
-
enoughisenough
a thought I had: a boy is chosen over the mother who raised him...if he has good conduct, wasn't that likely due to ( in case of a single mother) a woman's instruction? And how is this chosen boy to get to the meetings a bit earlier ( in some cases his mother ) And what sensible man is going to think his boy is more capable than his wife? If you really think about it, it is all horrid, but the sheeple will just be so proud to be the parent of a boy who may be selected. ( if they were smart, they wouldn't give permission, but then if they were smart, they would wake up to the nonsense spewed out by their 9 headed god.)

Trump assassination attempt??
by Diogenesister init happened at a rally in pennsylvania, apparently.
he seems ok i've seen a photo of him bleeding from his ear.
this is absolutely nutso....if it's too it doesn't surprise me the way they constantly describe him as "far right" and that his supporters are "maga republicans".
-
enoughisenough
excuse me, but how does one get around "put Trump in the bullseye" not mean for someone to kill him? What does one think of when the term bullseye is used? He certainly didn't mean it literally. It doesn't mean they should focus on Trump as an opponent-that was already happening. I personally believe it to be a preconceived "code" for to execute a tentative plan that was in place. Then, they can play innocent and say there is never any call for violence-but put Trump in the bullseye was literally a call for violence against him ....IMO

Members of congregation know it’s not true
by Mikejw inwe have lonely old folks and even some not so old.. they know the gb are not who they claim to be.. but they stay in the congregation because they are lonely.
i wonder what percentage of jws this is the case, i would guess a lot.

Rattigan, are you kidding us? since you asked, the GB claim to be substitutes for Christ and the Voice of Christ.
They claim they are the way to truth and life and if you aren't in with them, then you can't get to know God. All of this is hubris to say the least. Jesus said, he was the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him (JESUS) and not the lying GB. What they teach of themselves is really in direct conflict with Jesus words. Anyone who reads the Bible and thinks for themselves will get to see through the WT fog and foolery.
What to do with staying in the congregation: The people are fooled and believe the lies. They think they can't know about God or know truth or get to live without their 9 headed god.
