Let's assume 607 correct.... How can they prove that lead to 1914?
by AK - Jeff ini mean i understand the arguments they make - the calculations they lay out.
i did it for 40 years myself as a witness.
my question is a simple one - what 'proof' can the witnesses use to support the entire idea of converting a scripture about the 'gentile times', and a kings' insanity that lasted for 7 literal years into 2520 years?

Exactly. That's one big reason why I don't think any of these dates has anything to do with any of us in the year 1914 or 2006 or any other future date.

Hiding from the reality

Gatherings
by KW13 ini used to like the gatherings at peoples houses, a lot of the folks were quite good fun.
just a pity now i'm no longer a dub, they don't bother with me.. did you like the gatherings?
did anything 'odd' happen at any of them?

The last cong I attended never had gatherings, they were quite boring. The cong I grew up in however had gatherings all the time. Lots of baseball games at the park where two congs would play against each other. Big potlucks, baby showers, wedding showers, house warming parties, trips to amusement parks, trips to the mountains when it snowed, swim parties in the summer. We even use to get together for trips to Mexico to take clothes to the needy. I thought that was pretty much a thing of the past now.

Agapa37, I don't recall if I have welcomed you yet or not. I try to welcome all the newbies when I see them, there are just so many it isn't possible unless one stays online 24 hrs a day.
Any way, welcome to the forum and please do not take my sarcasms in many of my responses seriously, I am just sarcastic sometimes, especially when it comes to interpreting scriptures, and no offense is intended.

I doubt they would print those words for the public to read. "False Religion" yes but not "all other churches"
I would imagine anything they publish in a “special” tract or magazine article would simply be what they have done as usual. Tell folks to examine their beliefs, the church they attend, find things wrong with it, point out the red flags of spotting a false religion and offer help by suggesting a bible study with one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I Got The Phone Call Last Night - My Dad Died

he died peacefully and fairly painlessly.
my mom said she was talking with him, went to answer the phone, and 5 minutes later he was gone.

Separated and dating a JW
by goldenshell inis the 1st time i write in here .
am really confused about my jw boyfriend attitude .. am separated and with a child .i went through a really bad time after separation (7 months ago)and one of the reasons the relashionship wth my husband ended is because i fell in love with my actual boyfriend ..was love @1st sight ...we didnt make love 4 obvious reasons related to his faith but @the beginning things were much easier :he allowed me to touch him in his intimate parts ,we touched each other (we saw each other naked without making love once)and was very exciting...but the more we were getting involved the accraction was growing more and more and even if i am from a different belief (converted to islam)we agreed that nobody should try to change the other or impose anything ,,,but now i feel he is a bit selfish >he doesnt allow me to touch him under the belt (telling me that recently he discovered he is not allowed to do that )he doesnt even touch my breast because he is not supposed to(after he did before)he is 30 years old ,very good looking man and he keeps telling me when he sees me (once a month :which is even too much)that he cant resist me !but is actually the opposite !!
!he is resisting me ...before i will be able to committ to him i will have to wait 3 years which means also have sex >i dont know and i dont think i will be able to resist after 5 years of marriage and ''regular'' sex life //i am tired of seeing him once a month because his family doesnt know about us (he tells me that if they knew they would tell him to stop helping them with money and to stay with me :but he doesnt wantto make that choice,since he was young he supported the family //on top of that after marriage he doesnt want to have children and he tells me that i have already 1 child (we spoke many times bout that and to make sure he wont have children he wants to do an operation that will sterilize him ).
