I imagine that they will. They've got a lot to lose. More of these kinds of decisions being made only leads to more governments taking notice, and that is never good for the WT.

"The lines containing "new order" now say...."Go tell far and wide that the paradise is near."
Of course they edited the reference to God out! 🙄 I'm surprised they didn't try to shoehorn a reference to the GB instead! 🙄🙄🙄

"If Senate Bill 5375 passes and becomes law, religious leaders would have to report incidents to law enforcement or the Department of Children, Youth and Family Services within 48 hours, with no exemption. This would include information learned during penitential communication, such as confession in the Catholic Church or within the Committee of Elders in a Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, among others. Failure to do so could be considered a gross misdemeanor. "
Interesting that they specifically point out a JW procedure and deliberately define it into this law. The tide may eventually turn.
If the WT has any sense, they'll drop any involvement with CSA and simply tell victims and their families to go to law enforcement. And if they did,It would be nice if they would accept the results of a police investigation as grounds for disfellowshipment. And that they don't penalise the victim or family for warning others.
And they need to dismantle Ted Jaracz's idiocy (and covering of his own posterior*), the two witness rule.
*I don't buy the "we'll never know, so let's not talk about it" approach. He did something over here that led to him being sent back to headquarters under a cloud of some sort. That he made it his personal crusade to weaponise the two witness rule to protect paedophiles is a pretty strong hint.

"'twas Nisan 14 when your glory was seen...."
Man, talk about Vogon poetry! 😱😳🙄
Scuttlebutt amongst us mainstream Christians in the 80s was that JWs would answer "Yes" if you asked them if they were born again, presumably to deflect from certain arguments.

Telling People You Used To Be A JW
by JW_Rogue insince i faded i've told a few people at work about having been raised in this organization but i found that most people don't really get what it is like at all.
they just focus on not celebrating holidays as if that is the worst thing about growing up jw.
i didn't explain much because it's too much for most people to handle.

Most people who've never been in don't realise how profound a sentence like "I used to be a Jehovah's Witness" is. They probably think that leaving is no more stressful than cancelling a subscription. From what I've read, it's more like trying to leave the Mob: you can't!

It flies in the face of the WT assumption* that you'll probably inherit something nasty from someone else's blood. In this case, you inherit something good.
Can you still find WT articles where someone had a blood transfusion and went weird because they'd acquired the donor's characteristics?
* One of their many assumptions about blood

ah, yes, another shining example of the watchtower’s *unmatched* commitment to rational thought.
forget logic, science, or even basic common sense—just blame that suspiciously cursed handbag for all your troubles!

One day on the track,

Which caused him to say "Oh, truck it!"
