  Feeling like chopped liver.

  my son's best friend's parents attend a really whacky religious group, similar in some respects to the jws.

  simply replace armageddon with hell, and there ya go!

  i have just shrugged at it; they've been nice enough to me, very friendly.. this evening, their son asked me if he might be able to spend the night and go with my son to the youth group at our church in the morning.

  Wow. I feel like she's either very 2-faced (cause she's very sociable to me and never says a negative word to me about anything), or else she's not sure how to broach the subject of her concern with me. ...If a person truly believes I am in THAT much danger of hell, shouldn't s/he say something?? I'm chopped liver in reality? (Their take on "bird food"?)

  I believe Christians in general have to essentially deal with an internal conflict between being tolerant...or...being what they consider "truthful". I just think its a byproduct of being in a fundementalist Christian religion. Eventually, the truth of what a person truly believes comes through.

  Is Katrina just a precursor of things to come?

  if damage from one storm is going to cost, as they say, over a hundred billon dollars what would happen if we have another storm like that one, and another, and another, and another....

  i mean prices of fuel have jumped to record high all over the world as result of one storm, how bad can it get really?

  just this simple analysis would tell me that in a year or two of such hammering economy of the entire world could collapse.

  How many exJWs are now pagan? Why?

  i was just wondering how many exjehovahs witnesses are now pagan?

  of the exjws i've met, quite a few either describe themselves as pagan or pretty much have "pagan" type religious views.. i wonder if it is a backlash against the control of the jws - to choose a religion which has "no rules" as such.

  also, is it rebellion?

  Where were you on the a.m. of 9/11/01?

  i was at work -- a manager in a hospital that is the regional treatment center for one medical specialty...region includes nyc.

  someone came & grabbed me hard by the arm and pulled me into a room, where i saw every single mgr.

  sitting silently watching tv.

  I was out of work, I woke up that morning when my mom called and she told me to turn on the TV. I had a job interview that day. When I saw the television I thought whoever did it, was Muslim and they did it for religious reasons, I think most of us thought the same thing as stereotypical as it sounds. Later that day I had my job interview and stoped by the hospital to give blod. I was turned away, someone standing in line said he was ready to send their kid out to war.

  T.Rex T.Rocks!!!

  earlier this week, i picked up the re-release of the t.rex movie "born to boogie".

  i absolutely love it and have been watching it non-stop!.

  tonight i'm going out to karaoke and i'll be singing nothing but t.rex tunes.. any other t.rex fans out there?

  i couldn't have been more surprised!.

  i've been dfed for 10+ years.

  5 years ago they asked if they could stop by and talk with me sometime; i gave them my phone # and said "call first to make sure i'm home" and.....5 years later they do !

  when i was a faithful dub, the biggest, nagging doubt i had was the belief that a book... writing thousands, upon thousands of years ago....largely written in the middle east....was written with a couple of jehovah's witnesses in mind.

  it never ceased to amaze me the number of elders that told me that "the bible was really written for the annointed...remember, everyone else just benefits from its non-heavenly related discussion..but only a god fearing, going to heaven annointed dub could truly understand it...in that special way.

  the whole thing reminds me of that carly simon song, "you're so vain", you'd have to be really vain....or insane even... to think that a book that ancient was written with a couple of guys in brooklyn in mind, a city that didn't even exist at the time the last book of the bible was written.

  sure, why not........vain has one syllable tho...I think that's why it was picked. .. and yes AK... isn't it intersesting that one of the grandest prophecies of the revelation book had its fulfillment..... at an assemby in OHIO.
