  WOW am I glad I found this place

  i finally feel like there is someone out there that understands what i'm going through.

  my ex-girlfriend (and still best friend) try to understand but she just can't.

  she supports me in being strong but it's just nice to vent to people who have been through the same thing.

  JWs are programmed to immediately "turn off" if they hear anything negative. There are ways to reach them, and ways NOT to reach them.

  Before you go too far with your parents, I highly recommend you get and read two books, you can find them at www.freeminds.org

  "Reasoning with Jehovah's Witnesses"

  and

  "How to Rescue your Loved One from the Watchtower"

  They are filled with excellent advice on what to say and what to avoid. I know, the temptation is overwhelming to get them out NOW but it's a process and there's a right way and a not-so-good way to attempt it.

  stuck between a rock and a hard place!

  so i'm new to this forum but i just thought that someone out there might be able to relate to the situation i'm in---here it goes...!

  i'm stuck in the middle of my spouse who is no longer a witness and his family who are very involved in the religion i myself was raised jewish and don't really have any commitments to any religion but don't see anything wrong with those that do however my husband is very anti anti-any type of organized religion.... at times i think he's against me because i had a normal upbringing with a big loving family and a normal childhood during which i could play sports and mingle with all types of friends regardless of their background... but my husband has a lot of anger about his childhood that he missed out on and the sports he didn't get to play and "excel" at so now he has no appreciation for things that i find important holidays or pushing yourself beyond your own physical limits just to see how far you can... life can be really difficult at times and i feel like we were raised on two different planets!!!!!!!!!!

  eventhough my husband is no longer in the religion sometimes i feel like it is a 3rd partner in our marriage that i have to constantly compete with and work hard to overshadow.... i'm trying so hard not to let this break me but at times i'm at my wits end... can you relate????

  He is stuck in a place many exiting JWs are or were.... they don't want to practice it anymore but they still deep down (because of mind control) believe it is The Truth and that they will die because they've left God's Only True Organization( TM ). I should know, it happened to me.

  He needs to find out the "truth about the truth." Order "Crisis of Conscience" by ex-Governing Body Ray Franz. You can get it on Amazon or directly from Commentary Press. It's an irrefutable expose about the organization. There aren't many JWs that can read it and still believe. The trick is getting them to read it because they're brainwashed taught that reading anything against the organization is high treason and apostate. Only when they realize deep down that it's all lies can they truly be free.

  What Type Of Jehovah's Witness Were You, REALLY???

  most jws seem to be "devout" in that they go to 5 meetings and out in field service.

  yet, many also lived double lives.

  It's About INVENTORY, Stupid!

  in 1940, former zone servant harvey h. fink wrote that the wts was "set up by presumptous men whose interest in spite of their pretenses to the contray, is primarily selling books for revenue.." and that the wts demanded that books containing outdated doctrine would still "be sold to the people very definitely, because it wanted to get the revenue out of them in spite of the errors it willing admitted they contained.

  strong words, indeed.

  is the wts so currupt and greedy that they would knowlingly make their membership buy and sell books that contained admitted false prophecies and outdated doctrines?

  That horrid book! With the little red paperback question book to go along with!

  I was just a little kid when we studied that and it was the most excruciating thing I've ever had to sit through in my life. Types and antitypes and kings of the north and weird date chronology and harlots and statues that had their feet crumble... and Nevercomenever's dreams and all manners of demonized things...

  AAUUGGHH you made me remember that!!!!

  It's all about the money. Always has been. As conservative am radio talk show host Bob Grant would say.... FAKE! PHONY! FRAUD!

  I need advice quickly please

  about a few days ago i went to hand in my final paper at a university in manhattan.

  i won't go into details about the school because i want to keep it to a certain extent personal.

  there is this professor that is 38years old but he looks like he is 26 years old.

  California Circuit gets a slap on the hand

  a "circuit" (northern california area including south of sacramento and foothills) had only half of their expected attendance at the 10-11 april circuit assembly.

  only some 600 from a circuit of about 1100 were present to the dismay of the district and circuit overseers responsible for the assembly.

  of major concern was how to foot the bill for the event which is funded by member donations.

  Pretty soon there will be "new light" and they will be getting a talk about how Jehovah has directed the Faithful And Discreet Slave to relieve the burden that the assemblies place on families

  Wishful thinking... but it won't happen because then they won't be in control of people's vacation time anymore. There will never be an end to sitting in 110 degree stadiums, why, people might go to Disneyland instead and spend their money there!

  Used to just love giving up one of my two weeks vacation for that.

  on thursday i did quit my jw studies...now for a problem i had not thought of.

  many people in the kh have been asking my husband to do odd jobs around their homes.

  he has been doing this for a month for maybe a bit longer.

  for me, it was knowing that this wasn't the only "truth" yet feeling responsible to carry thr "party" line and "encourage" others to remain steadfast in the "truth".
