hi CC hope you get better soon, I've heard of weather affecting arthiritis before, must be the pits. when the weathter pattern changes a few in our family get migranes. I don't know how you feel about med. My ruematologist gave me Ultrams for hip pain, they don't make you droggy like a tylenol 4 would, it's the opposite, I built my house with my husband on that stuff. Jerry uses it for shingle pain, when he got shingles it had damaged the nerve ending in his shoulder so the pain is quite intense with weather changes and the ultram helps for that as well.

The Loving Elders

we (my husband and i) have not been to any meetings in over a year.
the elders have stopped by quite often (once they stopped by and they were here from 10:30 12:00, they left the others in their car group, out in the car the whole time!!

what kind of mind-control ?
by grace4u ini need help in finding out just what kind of mind control the jw's use on their members.
i have never been a jw, and need some specifics on this to help my sister, who is a jw.. just what kind of fear tactics did they instill upon you, and other ways of mind controlling?.
i know all the doctrines from research i have done, but not really sure on the specific things they said to keep you in, not listen to outsiders, and fear from leaving the orginization.. you all are so helpful in these posts, and i know you all will give me some great info.. thanks so much, grace4u

they are told to read only the scheduled material in the assigned book or magazine, it all pre-packaged, the answers are there, rarely one takes the time to look up or meditate on any Scripture cited. So in a sense they are not encouraged to use their minds and are reminded constantly the need to conform and avoid indepenent thinking. when one endeavors to increase their spiritual knowledge beyond the routinized program set out, more often it brings them to conflict with the organization. they are pressured into a rigid mold it's a constant subjection with a sense of guilt if organizational demands are not met. not all are affected to the same extent, some are able to cope more effectively than others with the organizational pressure .

i do, in fact, have a pc in each room connected by a lan, but this is my pc and this is my very comfortable corner where i like to chill out, play mutliplayer games over ther internet, and of course post numerous fluff posts at jwd.
just by me is a window which, until last week, looked out on some beautiful trees.

we had bought in 99 a lot with a corn field behind it all. knowing that in time it would be developed into single family lots with a man made lake. I planted over 50 trees on our lot, so in time I will have my own forest to block out those houses. I still feel fortunate in that the back of the lots are not back to back. we have 60 feet of space in-between with nothing in the corner for the entire lay out so I may still have a view of that lake, until the trees grow up. and we're up higher.
p.s. I hate it when trees get cut down.

this is what I got out of the NIV study bible:
49 not one of us : Jesus shifts the pronoun to "you" in v. 50 which may mean that the man had a relationship to Jesus of which the disciples were unaware. note mark 9:38 the man apparently was a believer but he was not one of the exclusive company of the 12. Nevertheless he acted in Jesus' name and had done what the disciples, on at least one occasion had not been able to do. And Jesus did not condemn him.
50 whoever is not against you is for you : Spoken in the context of opposition to the disciples' work.

by comforter indo they still make family movies?
it look like things that get produced these days by holyywood filled with f word, sex, violence, drug use and hurling.
no movies hardly to take your kids to or that a christian can watch.

NEED XMAS IDEAS FOR MEN

My Dumb Ass JW Brother

i have an extremely limited relationship with my mother and sister.
i possess no relationship whatsoever with my brother, his wife, and their now 1 yr old son.

it must be agonizing for you to listen to your mom talk about your brother and to hear him be so lazy. maybe you can mention to your mom the scripture in 1 Tim 5:8 if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, he has disowned the FAITH and IS WORSE than a person without faith.
take care of yourself, you are not your brothers keeper. we are here to listen.
