WHY YOU LOVE THIS BOARD

i decided to start this thread, because so many time we go at each other because of difference of opinion.

( myself included ) but yet for me i love this place.

i love the different opionions, they make me think, i love the freedom of expression, the friendships, and the expriences that make this a special healing place.

Hamptonite - I love this board, because I have come across so many genuine people, not at all what you could call "apostates" It has made us (Me & Kaytee) realise that the problems in the JWs are not just local ones, we often used to say, "we've got a bad lot of elders here in ...", but know we realise from reading everyone's comments and Ray's books, just how corrupt the Organisation really is. I must admit that I sometimes cringe when some foul language is used, but then I'm not judging anyone for that. I realise just how bitter and sad, some people can get when they have been duped and brain washed for many years. Thanks to everyone for their comments

Help! Neighbor starting a study

i am so furious.

the very zealous elderly pioneer sister who lives across the street (alberta) has been canvassing the neighborhood for studies.

i watch her walk up and down the street and being very friendly and helpful with her neighbors (all the while preaching to them i'm sure).

I can understand your concern for your neighbour, it's a difficult situation, I remember when I was first studying with the witnesses, I was taught that if anyone tried to put me off studying, it was a sign of being "objects of hatred ..." etc. so you will have to tread carefully, I agree with Noidea's plan of campaign ! Perhaps you could manage to slip into a casual conversation, the problem of paedophiles within the witnesses organisation, that should put her on guard, especially with having grandchildren.

The Watchtower Plot Against Us

the watchtower organisation has been guilty of major coverups and blatant lies.. it does not want ex jws telling others what they know.. does it ever occur to you that the watchtower have people who post on this board, gathering information about us?

they could use it against us at any time....they could keep a record of what we say on our posts and establish who we really are.. e.g.

people who i hardly ever speak to on this board suddenly seem to know details about me.

Time to tighten up our communications?

given the recent faked emails 'from' silentlambs and other emails that have been faked to come from me and others, perhaps it's time to tighten up our communications.. i suggest that anyone giving out official information sign their emails with a secure certificate that can verify that it is authentic.. either that, or post all announcements that are sent by email on a website as well which can be checked to see if an email is for real.. any thoughts ?

This is a really good site and we (Kaytee and me) are getting quite addicted to it. We agree with you that some emails can be so disruptive and spoil things for everyone. We are quite new to using computers and therefore can't contribute with any technical answers but we can say how grateful we are to you Simon for all of the hard work that you do.

Whatever We Say, Just Listen & Don't Question

in nearly every publication lately, the overpowering message to the faithful is to just listen to god's organization.

when circuit overseers give their talks, the theme is just listen to what we say.

every study article contains the same not so subtle message : you better listen because if you don't you're weak or complaining or worse yet, an apostate.the mind control is so obvious!

We heard today that a sister ( in the org all of her life) answered in the WT, that the Panorama programme on paedophilia was all lies and that we don't have that sort of thing in "the truth".

We are all aware of an elder (paedophile) in Rugby, England. who was sentenced and told by the judge that he was an arch-hypocrite - was the judge a liar as well !

We can truly say that the Organisation are Masters at brainwashing, Dehydrating individuals of all true bible knowledge, principles and personality. Are we becoming like the nazis from the second world war, who said they were acting under orders.

We are all going to be personally answerable to God one day.

What Was The 1st Thing That Made You Question?

as a youngster raised in the "truth", i had my questions.

but anytime you ask a question that is unanswerable, you are told to just wait on jehovah.

as time passes, i believe that we store up a number of unanswerable questions that forces one to eventually think about everything.

For many years I had made allowances for imperfections, and always assuming that the problems were on a local level, but the real eye-opener was the UN involvement, I just could not believe it - and of course that led on to discovering all the other scandals.

Thanks mainly to this site and the comments from all who post on here.

okay, firstly appologies for it taking me, like a million years to actually get back to you good people.. i was sent a letter back and guess what... standard reply was issued!.

i don't have a scanner (it blew up ages ago!

) but the main body of the letter was the same as i've seen on other threads here.

I think that you may have a long wait for a response from the WT. We had two elders visit us one month ago, and we presented them with all of the evidence (a whole file full) and gave them copies to take away with them - Re: UN involvement, paedophilia, shares in war equipment, failed prophecies etc. We even had the original letter and envelope with the UN postmark, where the UN confirmed that the WT had registered as an NGO with them. They couldn't say it was lies made up on the internet. Well, we are still awaiting some explanation from them, we also wrote to the London Bethel with the same points ages ago, but still haven't had any response and we really don't think that a reply with ever come from them.

Thanks for posting the article, it's very interesting indeed. I have read three of Graham Hancock's books and they certainly give you something to think about ! The links showing the NASA satellite photos are good too.
