  suddenly i am hit with this overwhelming feeling that we are wrong and that there are logical explanations for all of the things that dont make sense.

  Did you ever see the movie "The Invasion of the Bodysnatchers"? In the movie it shows where people are taken over by cold, emotionless, human-duplicating pods from outer space. These people would then be obedient to do what their master says and they have no individuality anymore, although they were all in unison and worked together for a common goal, a goal implanted by a higher authority on robotic human beings...
  When you are not able to freely reason and think or have the ability to question and check out for yourself whether these things are so, then it is not worth to remain in an organization for the sake of not wanting to be lonely and thereby raping your God-given conscience forever...

  Worldly Husbands

  larc has an interesting thread going about why jw men choose to date (and beyond) worldly women in lieu of dating the seemingly overbundant supply of 'horny' sisters available.

  i recommend it.. it set me to thinking about yet another interesting phenomena in jwdom.

  that is the situation where the jw woman has, as a husband, a 'non-believer'.

  I fully agree with your observation; also the last comments from Frenchy made perfect sense why it's beneficial to have a non-witness husband. May I add a tiny little thing...? Perhaps the (more exciting) sex life may also be a factor when married to a non-witness mate - well, I'll leave that to you to figure this one out LOL...

  my mother had major surgery on jan. 4th.

  she needs at least 8-10 weeks bed rest.

  I fully understand your frustration. Don't you know by know that most JW's are the only people in this world who do not have the full capacity to love one an other. If they show love, it is a robotic love, a love prompted by the proddings of the Society; meaning that when you are strong in the truth, you have the privilige of being looked after with a forced smile, but if you are weak: forget it... no real love will be shown and you are just a number. Sounds farfetched? Not really... I even dare to say that this is some form of a mental illness on the part of the Witnesses.
  What I can say BQE, is that you will receive real care and love from outsiders or your friends and family members who are NOT in the truth. In any case I wish you all the strength to carry on and if I were living in your neighborhood, I would surely come over and help your mother any way I could!

  Judicial committee meeting audio on web

  i have posted a judicial committee meeting audio file recorded in the early 1980's.

  i may only leave it up for the month of january as i have run out of server space.. it is listed at http://www.jwinfoline.com/page/audio_tapes_of_month.htm.

  I just listened to the Townsend meeting as well. The elders were predictably suspicious of the material presented to them. They were implying that the information was false and that it could not have come from the Governing Body whatsoever. This was expected, as the thinking of the elders was shallow and they were ill-informed about the deeper things having to do with the prophecies and scriptural references pointing to discrepancies discussed on the part of the Borg. Of course the elders would never dream of "investigating" the articles, but stubbornly indicated that they had faith in the Society and they did not have to look any further. For instance, when proof was given to them about the many statements from the Watchtower that they in effect were saying that the end of the world would occur in 1975 (which they denied), they glanced at one watchtower article briefly but did not dare to check any further. They could not prove from the bible either that 1914 was the beginning of Christ's reign in heaven. Also the fact that the Townsends disassociated themselves was a smart move on their part, since at that time (around 1984) disassociating meant that one could still associate with the Witnesses freely without being shunned... The conclusion of the matter is that the Townsends clearly had the upperhand in knowledge, wisdom and fortitude while experiencing the backing of God's spirit whereas the elders were at a loss of words and even embarrassed themselves to the point of not knowing how to defend themselves. Surprisingly, I actually felt sorry for the elders, since they could not counteract a viable argument from the scriptures to prove the Watchtower's point of view, let alone the bible's.
  If the elders would have "learned" something from that meeting, then the greatest blessing would have been for them to also leave the Organization and replace their lives with a genuine purpose, which would have made them free as did the Townsends. Bravo for the Townsends for standing up and proving on which side they were on: the side of the real truth of the bible...

  perhaps a doctor or a nurse said them before administering a recommended treatment.

  likely, you did not refuse to submit to the treatment simply to avoid the anticipated pain.

  Whatever we did as Witnesses was based on how the others in the congregation would view it. They frown at us when a child cries too often or can't sit still. You must always be perfect in everything, yet they claim that we are all imperfect and make mistakes. But if you had a prolonged illness for instance, they eventually would consider you somewhat weak in the truth. If you do not comment often, they say something, if your time is low, they criticize you on that, if your hair is a little long, you are counseled by the elders or if you want to educate yourself by getting a higher education, you are looked down on. Yes, you have to walk a "narrow road of acceptable behavior by walking on a tight rope of so-called religious sanity". It's so unhealthy and abnormal as humans to treat each other that way - How many cases do we know where brothers (who are not strong in the truth) have become physically ill and needed to be hospitalized where very few Witnesses would comfort, help or even visit them. Of course, their family members who are not witnesses will visit them regularly or even acquaintances may show them more love than all the witnesses together! But then...if you are strong in the truth, you will be pampered, "loved", visited often with their deluge of false compassion based on outward observance...

  the other day, i was walking out of the kh with elder x, and elder x said ..."did you hear about this jehovah's witness website they got... they should shut it down".

  i acted dumb to it and chuckled.

  i said "really...ah yeah... i think i did hear somthing about that...".

  This means that the elders are now reading "apostate stuff" also? How else would they know about this website? Maybe they are checking up on various people, especially those who have their picture posted (LOL)...

  i posted this same topic earlier but it didn't go through so i have to do it again.. i didn't think my ten questions would cause a person(youknow) to be attacked because his opinions was different from the majority.. alanf.

  i don't know you personally and i don't know what you have gone through in your life, but i can say from what i have seen in here you have a lot of angry,hate, and other issues inside you that needs to be dealt with.

  you oblivious have some sort of history with this man.

  These are excerpts of reliable and unbiased reports on the resulting behavior of the majority of Witnesses when under pressure during an extended period of time...
