  Your past friends and associates in the truth - where are they now?

  it'd be interesting to see what's happened to friends, associates and kingdom hall buddies since leaving the organisation.. .

  a friend - someone you have a personal friendship with.

  an associate - someone you hang out with in groups but have no personal relationship with.

  Honestly? I have no idea!

  I can only suspect.

  I do know of a few people I associated and hung out with. Of all the couples I hung out with on weekends, all but one (I believe) are divorces, of those divorced, only one I believe is still active.

  I actually met one of my old JW friends at Sesame Place, a few years ago. He and his wife were divorced, and DF'd, he was with his 4 year old son, by his girlfriend.

  An old friend of mine from the Bronx, was divorced and DF'd

  There are a few people I wonder about. A sister I wanted to marry. I understand she met a guy and moved to california with him after only six months knowing him.

  And an old friend of mine who I tried to enlightened, but decided to leave him in his ignorance, as the JW's were his life, without them he'd be lost. he eventually suroounded himself with hardcore JW's.

  was your kingdom hall ever broken into or vandalized?.

  many years ago, around 1991 or 92, our kingdom hall was broken into.

  we had just purchased this heavy duty file cabinet, it was fire proof, smash proof, you name it, at least that's what we were told, this baby cost us over $900.00.

  Was your Kingdom Hall ever broken into or vandalized?

  Many years ago, around 1991 or 92, our Kingdom Hall was broken into. We had just purchased this heavy duty file cabinet, it was fire proof, smash proof, you name it, at least that's what we were told, this baby cost us over $900.00. The contents had ALL publisher files and BOE's and every other "For Elder's Eyes Only" documents.

  Needless to say, someone broke in, a couple of old time pioneers who had the keys to the hall came in one early Saturday morning, I arrived a few minutes later from Bethel (I was Literature Servant) and the police were there. That $900.00 file cabinet was ripped apart like a can of sardines. Files, papers, talk outlines, letters all over the place. We were told nothing was missing. The works of "apostates"? who knows!

  "Scams" on Oprah Today - Insight on Why People Still Become JWs

  oprah today had a program on scams, things like the mega-millionaire stuck in nigeria that needs your bank account numbers to get his money out of the country, and for that he'll split the millions with you; you've just won the australian, irish etc lottery, just send money to pay the taxes, etc.

  those kinds of things.. well, everyday people are still falling for that stuff.

  there are some tremendously gullible folks around who won't take a few minutes to research the authenticity of these too-good-to-be-true scams on the internet.. and for these same reasons, people are still becoming jws.

  Radon testing your home?

  has anyone here ever tested their house for radon gasses?

  it is some nasty stuff it looks like.. i am getting ready to buy a as is condo and it is on the ground floor..i don't know why but something tells me to get a radon test on it.

  i saw you can get the kits for $10.

  We did when we purchased our current home a few years ago, basement had radon, so we installed a little gadget and it takes care of it!

  Latest tract campaign a complete bust in our area - yours?

  Did you ever really have true blue friends being a Witness?

  looking back i don't think i really ever had any good friends being witness, cause if i would have some out of all those people and so called friends i thought i had, you would think one of them would have looked me up over the years.

  i've been talking to a guy who belongs to some non-denominational church and here is a rundown of what they believe:.

  -that you should still keep the sabbath.

  -that jesus returned in 1948.

  there are several links online but they are all dead or broken, including the one at mostholyfaith.com, which has all the questions and answers but some of them fail to work.. thank you very much..
