telling a witness "hey, all the stuff you teach is bs" may be correct, but does that approach work?
i have been reading on here how several have tried that direct method with their family or friends.
it didnt work for me, and now i am having more and more success by repeating that i support the organization and the faithful slave, then i bring up "an interesting point".
You would think that there should be a logical way of discussing these things, but there surely is not, if there were thousands would leave.
Even when you present them with hard evidence they still seam to have a closed mind.
Even when scripture is used ( Isaiah 1 v18 come now you people and let us put matters straight between us says Jehovah ) even then, there is no guarantee that this approach will work.
In the end it has to come from the person himself or herself.

a few years ago i held out hope, that if i was patient and waited on jehovah, he would correct things in his due time.. there was still a part of me that wanted to believe it was the truth - it was still part of my comfort zone, after all i was raised in the truth from infancy.. i took heart that people wanted to reform the organization rather than plot or wish its downfall.. websites such as http://www.jwreform.org/ and heart felt open letters written by those who wanted something better gave me hope that if enough people got together, real change might actually happen.. as time passes, and new discoveries are made concerning the untruths that the watchtower society has sold and promoted to us, it become evident that there is no possibility of reform - real reform, from a totalitarian spiritual government to a first century model of christianity.. tomorrow, activists from around the world will march in london at the g20 summit.
the word is that the g20 group of finance ministers will not bring anything new to the forum, but will simpy discuss ways of trying to prop up the old financial order.. and so it is with the watchtower organization - there have been protests, letters written to the governing body, marches on bethel, tv documentaries on the jw child abuse problem, but what has really changed for the better?.
the society is reactionary - it prefers the old system of doing things because it works for them.
The U.N. did it for the wife and me, Ray’s two books sealed it for my wife.
All the other revelations, (Paedophiles, Blood U-turn, failed prophecies, etc.) all seamed to come together at the same time.

As well as adultery, what about premeditated murder, the org used to say, he was not stoned because he was repentant.
I am sure there was many others who were just as sorry, but there is no record of them being forgiven.
If a law exists!, it should apply to all, that was another problem area hard to understand.

there is an elder in my congregation who i feel dislikes me because i'm inactive and doesn't know what to do with me.
he seems to go on his business as soon as i walk in.
a couple of times as i was talking with a member of the congregation, he rudely interrupted my conversation and took the person by the shoulder and walked away as if his conversation was more important.. once i was talking to my mom( who is very sick and has many ailments but still makes it to some meetings)and this self-righteous elder walks right in our conversation and makes a rude comment about me in front of my mom.. this was the actual coversation we had to show you how self-righteous he is:.

I would say in my case most of the 9-10 elders disliked me, the reason being, and others like me will know, if you stand your ground and not curtail to them, you will inevitably upset them.
They had to make a public unreserved apology on the platform over a situation that they had handled very badly, I pursued them through a new C.O. over the matter, my spiritual progress was finished from then on.

our exit from the watch tower society was fairly speedy.
within about 3 months, we'd ceased attending meetings and lost all of our friends (apart from hobo ken and his wife).. what was shocking - and only confirmed that we were right to leave - was how our decision was met by our so-called friends.. we were leaving behind people whom we'd enjoyed friendship for over 20 years.
we were leaving behind friends who were closer to us than our own families were.

My wife and jumped off the bridge 8 years ago, we landed O.K., the water was deep and we had a soft landing.

did you ever notice that elders tend to "bend" the scriptures when counciling you.... to fit their view of you or of the situation?.
i wonder what goes on before hand.. if they are going to council someone over a certain matter... do they talk between themselves and decide from what angle they will approach the subject at hand?.
they complain about false religion taking the bible and making it fit what they want to do in their lives, but i feel that they do the same when they feel a certain way about you or a matter they are counciling you for.. .
It’s like putting a fox in charge of a hen house, just because he has a lot of experience with the chickens.
I found them, in general to be the lowest form of Christians, they were too fond of bending the rules themselves, but will instil it in others.

right now i am filled with burning hatred towards the wbts.
not just to what it has done to me and my family but to people all over the world.
i want to see nothing but the governing body exposed as the charlatans that they are and for all to see the great evil that is the wbts.

I feel exactly the same way you do, unlike us they have a multitude of legal persons to cope with most of what comes their way.
All we can do is to use what was one of their favourite sayings ;
"We will leave it to Jehovah"

for many years, i had serious issues with alot of scriptures.
the creation account, the flood, jonah in the whale, etc.
scriptures that are scientifically falsifiable.

What exactly are you saying to me Kurtbethel, I have a deep love of Jehovah and Jesus Christ.
I spent 30 years in the wts having given away my very successful company to join them.
I thought I knew much of the bible in all that time, but even so there was parts that were a puzzle ! but because of their failure to adhere to Christian principles I found I could not go along with them, I still beleive I have Christian principles WITHOUT THEM.
