RubaDub:I just mentioned that other than the core beliefs from the GB, how many in the KH can prove one of our fundamental beliefs, such as 1914, directly from the Bible ? Everyone just smiled.

no need for all the details, but we were with a few from the kh after the meeting for some food and the topic of how smart we are compared to other religions in the world when it comes to knowing the bible.. my radar immediately went off as that is one of my pet peeves.
(most laughed since i doubt any do the family study night, but that's beside the point).
i asked one of the brothers to multiply that by 50 weeks (answer is 225 hours).

Since 'men' wrote the Bible, why shouldn't they define its canon?

One thing not yet mentioned is that the baptizer must not have tatoos from their past life.

im starting to think so.. i was still somewhat active in meeting and assembly attendance when i first started doubting the jw life.
when i first heard splane give a discourse, it was a real wake up call as to what kind of people are controling this organization.
the next time i heard him speak he was even worse.. as ive seen on this forum, many people have had the same experience.. in slimboyfats thread, http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/251890/1/british-zone-visit-from-david-splane-a-report-from-the-special-meeting-in-glasgow, he noted this gem from splane: if traumatic things have happened in your past then just don't think about it, that's the best you can do until the new system.. this is one of the most irresponsible and rage inducing comments i have ever heard.
And when it comes to the GB's continual stream of New Light refinements:
*** Galatians 2:18 ***
For if the very things that I once threw down I build up again, I demonstrate myself to be a transgressor.

i just received an email from an unbaptised publisher that made the following comment;.
in the uk the age of consent by law for a child is 16 and only then can they be baptized of their own free will.
is anyone aware of jws that have been baptised younger than 16 in the uk?.
I baptised a 14 year old just last year.

That's what happens when you surround someone with idolising, sycophantic 'yes' men who are too terrified to say he has lost all sense of humility and normalcy.
You get a demanding, arrogant monster who delusionally believes that everything he says is the very wisdom of God.

the saying people will make the same mistake over and over again is so true.
in the "revelation grand climax at hand" the revised one 2006 the wt again makes the same error and attributes the words at rev 22:12 to jehovah on pgs 306 and to jesus on the last page 319. you would think they would have learned their lesson from the 1978 wt blunder.
they almost use the same wording discussing the suddeness of jesus coming and jesus encourages his followers of his sudden coming and they list 5 scriptures and say jesus spoke them and one of the verses is (rev 22:12).
If you read just the bible, you would concluce it was Jesus speaking in the entire section.
It is only by adding convoluted reasoning to retro-fit the text to a preconceived belief, that it becomes confusing.

Hi Jeffro,
I see the point you're making.
The Revelation book takes a single discourse and attributes it to multiple speakers.
In this instance the Revelation book does indeed describe Jesus as speaking the words in paragraph 15, but identifies this as being different to the Alpha and Omega of paragraph 6.
Just got to update my other documents now.....

not even eating with such a man?.
today i added a new article to my blog taking a closer look at watchtowers doctrinal position that jehovahs witnesses should not even eat a meal with disfellowshipped individuals.
as it turns out watchtower holds families among jehovahs witnesses to one standard and holds itself to a wholly different standard.
I think there's been more flip flops on this too:
NO - w56 6/15 p. 383 Questions From Readers
A disfellowshiped person is no member of Jehovah’s congregation and may not be served the emblems by those serving at the celebration of the Lord’s evening meal.
YES - w58 8/1 p. 478 Questions From Readers
It is not for you or anyone serving the Memorial emblems to act as the judge, but to allow the emblems to go to anyone in the audience as these are passed along in the normal manner of letting each one have the opportunity to partake.
NO - w60 4/1 p. 224 Questions From Readers
Disfellowshiped persons are not welcome. Should they attend and partake, they would not be counted.
YES - w76 2/1 p. 76 “Keep Doing This in Remembrance of Me”
Those counted as partakers are those known as faithful, baptized servants of God. We do not invite disfellowshiped persons to attend. But if such a one is present, there is no reason to be disturbed if he is seated in a row with others and proceeds to partake of the emblems.
